Chapter Five
Ten minutes later our dad pulled up.
Jennifer and I got up and headed downstairs.
"Girl's what is your dad doing here?" mom asked me and Jennifer.
"He's your husband, our dad, and he lives here." I said.
She sighed.
"I see you girls are taking your dad's side on this." mom said and put her hands on her hips.
I just looked at her and nodded.
Jennifer grabbed my hand and we went to the front door.
"Be back at eleven tonight at least." our mom said.
"No promises." I said and me and Jennifer walked out the front door.
I closed it and jennifer and I ran to our dad's truck.
Dad opened the door and me and Jennifer climbed inside.
He pulled up both into a hug and kissed us on the forehead.
He then turned back around and drove.
Jennifer still held my hand.
She was clinging to me for dear life.
"How are you holding up?" dad asked me.
"I'm doing okay. But I can't beleive mom is doing this." I said.
"You girl's really should talk to your mother. She can answer a lot of questions you have." dad said.
"I am not intrested in talking to her dad." I said.
He nodded but kept his eyes on the road.
"You girl's do live with your mom and ignoring won't be a very pleaseant experience for either of yall." said dad.
"I don't plan on living with her long." I said.
Jennifer squeezed my hand tighter.
"You can't leave me!" she exclaimed.
"I would never leave you." I said and squeezed her hand.
She relaxed her grip on my hand a tiny bit.
"Honey running away won't make life any easier on you." said dad.
"I'm not gonna run away. But I plan on moving out when I turn eighteen." I said.
"That's only two weeks away sweetheart. Where do you plan on getting that kind of money?" dad asked.
"I have a job dad and I have some money in the bank." I said.
He nodded.
"Daddy who am I gonna live with?" Jennifer pratically whispered.
Dad pulled into Star Light Park's parking areas and parked in the first empty spot he found.
He turned to jennifer.
"I don't really know seetheart." he said.
"I wish this wasn't happening. I don't know who to live with." said Jennifer.
"No need to worry about that now." said dad
He then opened his door and got out and closed it.
We followed right behind him.
Jennifer let go of my hand and I rubbed it trying to make the redness go away.
Dad picked Jennifer up and placed her on his hip.
I laughed.
"Go ahead and climb onto my back sweetheart." dad said to me.
"Dad I am seventeen." I said laughing.
"So you're a kid for two more weks. Make the most of it." my dad said.
I laughed again but climbed onto his back.
Suddenly my phone started ringing I knew it wasDaniel because he was the only one that called me.
I ignored it.
"Your phone is ringing." my dad said.
"I know but I am having quality family time." I said.
Dad laughed.
"Okay sweetheart." said dad.
Dad then carried us over to the swings.
I dropped off his back and he put jennifer down.
He sat in the middle swing and me and jennifer grabbed one on either side of him.
We all pumped our feet lightly and swung back and forth.
I pulled out my cell phone.
"Smile!" I exclaimed.
They listened and I snapped a picture of all of us.
