Chapter 26 - Dans POV
I paced my apartment, running through all of the possible scenarios that could have caused me to not see Maisie for what seemed like ages.
I knew she might ignore me, try to avoid me even, because of the whole Chelsea thing, but I hadn't seen her at all, not even a glimpse.
I never meant to hurt her in the fitness suite, she just got to me and all I saw was red. Surely she knew I would never physically hurt her on purpose right?
I knew I had been a dick. It's just that Chelsea was throwing herself at me, and I could never say no to a hot and easy girl.
I wanted to not give a shit about Maisie. After all, it was supposed to be just business. Yet, I couldn't help but feel a rush of guilt when tears had pooled in her eyes and she suddenly ran off. It was like I watched her crumble, just by looking at her as she watched me and Chelsea.
I slammed my fist into the wall, leaving a massive dent and dust in a pile on the floor. I couldn't care less.
I sat on my bed and ran my hands through my hair. What was happening to me?
Maisie's POV
As I stepped into my new apartment, I gasped at the sight. From the outside it hadn't looked that special, yet now I knew I had been so wrong. On one wall in the hallway was a cream wallpaper, blue bird cages and flowers covering it in a symmetrical pattern. An egg blue carpet was plush beneath my feet and the other white walls weren't posh and threatening like you'd expect. I dropped my bags and walked further into the apartment.
My living room had a black and white theme, simple but modern. It was a bit too clean for my liking, yet I guessed when I got my stuff in it wouldn't be as bad.
There was two bedrooms. I stepped into the first and it was a decent size, with a double bed and a purple and white theme. I then went into the other room. It was bigger than the other, a big double bed in the centre. It had a simple white duvet with grey spots, complimenting the pink flowery wallpaper perfectly. The carpet was a salmon pink and the whole room just suited me perfectly.
After a few hours I had everything unpacked and I was ready for my date with Romero. I had text him my new address as I got ready. The shower was modern and sleek, the warm water instantly relaxing my tense shoulders.
A knock at the door told me my time had run out. I picked up my clutch and took one last look in the mirror before I went to answer the door.
When I opened it, a handsome as ever Romero stood smiling at me sheepishly. He had on a tight black button up shirt, a few left undone to reveal some of his tanned chest. His jeans hung low on his hips and sat awkwardly on top of his worn vans. He looked gorgeous.
His cheesy grin relaxed me and banished all doubtful thoughts I had previously had about going out with him again.
"You look beautiful." He said, his brown eyes gleaming at me. I looked down at my pale skinny jeans and floaty belly top. I didn't look great, but I'd looked worse.
"Thank you." I smiled at him before turning around to grab my shoes. I slipped on my tanned heels and ran my fingers through my perfectly straightened hair.
The drive to the festival went by quickly, us both making small talk about our days. He always made me laugh more than anyone had. Well, except Dan.
When Romero pulled up on a field, cars surrounding us yet no sign of a festival, I gave him an 'are you serious' look before he rolled his eyes at me.
"Just you wait. This festival is an annual thing, and people from all over the world come here just to see it, so don't give me that look until you've seen it yourself." He told me, pointing his finger at me accusingly, making me giggle and roll my eyes back at him.
I could already tell this was going to be a good night.
