Chapter 31

Even behind the tape I could see how broken Romero was. His eyes were empty and cold, a frown never leaving his face.

"We'll be going now." Chelsea snapped in that horrible girlish voice of hers, as she yanked Romero to his feet.

My head was all over the place and my legs were like jelly, but I knew I had to at least try. The one thing I was sure I had to do was get Romero away from Chelsea, so I could begin to explain this whole mess to him. I couldn't lose him now. As well as saving him because he was my.. friend, I felt like there was a lot more to the business than the MI6 had ever considered. I knew that to find that out, in the safest way, I had to ask Romero to tell me everything because now I knew he wasn't loyal to his fathers 'business' like we had all assumed.

"He's going nowhere." I said, almost to myself, and lunged at Chelsea, knocking her to the ground.

As I punched her across the face, I saw the two men taking Romero away, so I picked myself up and began to run towards them.

Just as I was about to reach them, a hand grabbed my ankle and I fell, face first, onto the wet grass. I looked behind me and Chelsea grinned evilly at me, her teeth stained red by her own blood. I bent my leg and then kicked her on the nose continuously until she let go of my leg. It was pretty cruel but she deserved it. I wouldn't be surprised if I'd broken her nose with the amount of force there had been from my leg.

As I was getting back up onto my knees, something hit the back of my head really hard, a sharp pain suddenly coursing through my whole skull. I tried to get up once again but it was no use, my limbs were weak and nausea had taken over. Even in my blurred sight I could see Chelsea walking in front of me before turning around for one last look.

The last thing I saw before the darkness took over, was a tall blonde figure tackling her to the ground.
