After returning from Christmas break, classes resumed. Things were better between Mel and I. Everyone was busy with their studies. It had been over a month since the complete birthday debacle, and we all moved on with our lives. Frazier was in town to help Kate and Red to help her with Valentine's Day, which was quickly approaching.
That also meant everyone was planning something romantic for that person in their lives. I expected something for Mel and I. I knew what I wanted to do and I knew she would appreciate it more than anyone.
I set everything up. I placed my hands over Mel's eyes and walked her into the room. Then I lowered my hands. I had a picnic with our favorite foods set up on the floor.
"Well, Mr. Shaw, you're quite the romantic, aren't you?" Mel asked me.
"Yes, Miss Michaelson, I am," I smiled.
We sat down, and I pulled food out of the picnic basket. We dove in and ate our food.
"This is amazing," she said with a mouthful of food.
"Yeah, I tried, but you know what would make this even better?" I asked casually.
"What?" She asked as she swallowed her food.
"That you would have told me it's your birthday," I said casually. I reached behind my back and handed Mel a gift.
"Oh, Liam, you didn't have to get me anything," she said, trying to refuse the gift.
"I know, but I wanted to. Here, open it," I said, handing Mel the rectangle box.
She took it and opened it. Her eyes widened as she looked at me. I got up and opened it, revealing a heart-shaped locket. I pulled it out, and Mel moved her hair from her neck as I put the necklace on her. "I thought a locket would mean more to you than a teddy bear or flowers," I mentioned.
Mel held the locket with her finger and thumb, pressing a button, revealing pictures. Before I said anything else, she tackled me to the floor. What is up with this girl tackling me all the time?
"It's beautiful. I love it." She smiled, and I chuckled as I crashed my lips into hers.
Things heated between us quickly, and before I knew it, we were stripping off each other's clothes, then I stopped. We were down to our underwear, and I looked at her. "As much as I want to do this, I also know I want it to be different."
"How much different because we are practically almost naked," she said to me.
"Different in you only get one first time," I said to her, and she sighed. "What?"
"It's that every time things heat, someone takes a bucket of icy water and puts it out," she said with a slight frustration to her tone.
"Look, I know it's hard, trust me, it's tough, but if we do this, there is no going back," I said to her.
She looked me in the eyes. "Liam, I'm ready. The question is, are you?"
I placed my hand on her face and kissed her lips, then I said against her lips, "More than you will ever know."
With that, we gave in to our passion. I started kissing Mel softly as I moved down her neck and unhooking her bra, deleting it from her. I stood and picked her up, carrying her to my bed, laying her down on her back. I leaned over and kissed her lips. I moved my way down her neck and her body, placing soft kisses upon her.
Then I hooked my thumbs into her panties and pulled them slowly off of her. I stood up and pushed down my boxers, stepping away from them. Before anything else happened, I made sure I used protection. Get a girl pregnant. Yeah, I don't think so. Thanks to my yahoo cousins, I kept a box just in case.
