"What do you mean I can't date Mickey?"
"I mean you can't date guys like him." I state, trying to be rational. "Why would you want to date someone who looks bored all the time?"
"That's why you're against him?"
"If so, that's completely illogical!" She shouts.
"I'm just trying to look out for you."
"Is keeping me by your side looking out for me, or chaining me up?"
"I'm done being held back by you Michele, I'll start talking to guys, and I'll start dating!"
"Wait, come back..."
I groaned in frustration, Emil just happened to be near our argument, but he decided to leave me alone thinking I needed space. I appreciated what he did, so I just calmed down and thanked him later. That 'thank you' led to us hanging out, 'hanging out' turned into dating. Cut to a few months later with my boyfriend.
And a series of awkward moments that were comprised of me and Sara deliberately hiding our relationships from one another with cliché, terrible excuses. Except saying tings like 'they're just a friend' pained their hearts quite a bit. Until we caught each other, to say the least.
"Mickey, I'm going out, what do you want-"
I was snuggled next to Emil while we were watching a movie, he placed a light kiss on my cheek as I drifted off to sleep. "To eat..." This faint voice woke me up, "S-Sara?"
"Hey...didn't you say Emil was your friend?"
"Yeah...see he's my boyfriend."
"I knew it!"
"If that's what you're going off of, isn't Mila your girlfriend?"
Sara was silent until she said. "No Chipotle for you."
And didn't even mind closing the door.
