To be quite honest, math was an absolute bore! Honestly, how would any of this geometry stuff be useful? Especially when Teddy was planning on joining the military, after his old man.
If it wasn't too useful, what's the point of listening to Mr. James ramble on about nonsense? Instead, Teddy found his form of entertainment in a form of a girl. Her name was [Name] and she was a delight!
At first [Name] determine to pay attention and ignore Teddy at all costs. She really needed to pass this classes, but midterms came and there was no point of return. She accepted her fate as failing, even if it meant summer school. Instead, the simply humored her seat partner, the insufferable Teddy Duchamp.
One day, Mr. James had been going over circles, but [Name] wasn't paying attention.
"Psh." Teddy hissed out, trying to catch [Name]'s attention.
"What do you want, doofus?" [Name] muttered, glancing at the boy.
"Do you ever think we'll leave Castle Rock?" Teddy questioned.
"That's an awfully deep question, especially when it's coming from you, Duchamp." [Name] replied, raising an eyebrow. Luckily, the two sat in the back, so it was harder for Mr. James to hear them.
"Just answer the question!" Teddy insisted, and from the looks of it, he wasn't taken no for an answer.
"Well, I sure hope so. I can't handle this small town stuff much longer, y'know? There's a whole world to explore." [Name] answered, her mind wondering off to all the possibilities outside Castle Rock.
"Yeah, I gotcha ya. I want to join military, follow my old man's steps." He revealed, which made [Name] ponder. How can he love the man so much, especially when he's the reason for Teddy's ear condition?
But [Name] knew it was a very sensitive subject, and never commented on it. Plus, it was rude to stare anyway.
"That's nice, Teddy. That's a good aspiration to strive for." [Name] complimented, giving the boy a smile. Teddy felt himself blush, which was embarrassing.
Usually, the two would goof around, much the other students' dismay. But today, it seemed like they were the only ones in the classroom. All they had ahead of them was their future.
But as much as [Name] wanted to think about the future, she couldn't see Teddy out of her life. Her was special–different. He brought this spark that she's never felt before. It was a feeling that was valuable, something she won't want to abandon for the huge city life.
"I'm glad we're friends. I mean, I love Gordie and the others, but you're a breath of fresh air, y'know?" Teddy said, and suddenly you were the blushing mess.
Things were changing between you and the boy, and you weren't sure how to react. Would it change things?
It's been a few days since [Name] was talking with Teddy about the future. Whatever seriousness he held that day was gone as fast as it came. He was back to poking her and drawing stick figures on her worksheets.
Of course, this led to a small debacle, and [Name] almost got caught by Mr. James himself. That wouldn't had been good.
However, even with the pestering in class, it didn't extend outside of it. Teddy tended to stick with his friends, and [Name] had stuck to hers.
So, frankly this moment had came as a surprise to her.
Teddy had asked her to wait up after class, so here she is, standing by his locker.
"How's it hanging, Teddy?" [Name] greeted as she approached the locker, her books in her hand.
"Hi [Name], sorry for bothering you. I just had to ask you something." Teddy replied, however his body language seemed different. His brown eyes looked at any thing at the hallway, except towards [Name].
He fidgeted with the hem of shirt. It made [Name] realize the boy was quite nervous, and it peaked her interest.
"No, it's fine. What's wrong?" [Name] asked, feeling interested but a bit concern as well.
"Well, here goes nothing. Look, I've liked you for awhile, [Name]. I was wondering if you wanted to get ice cream together?" Teddy rambled on, finally revealing to [Name] his confession.
She didn't a expect it at all. But her she felt light, her heart made palpitations, and butterflies seemed to roam around tummy.
"Of course, I would love to, Teddy!" [Name] accepted happily, a grin gracing her face.
"Really? You'd want to go out with me? Even with me ear?" Teddy asked, shocked, but his words laced with insecurity.
"Yes. I like you for you, Teddy. Ear or not, I would always go get ice cream with you." [Name] reassured him, and it seemed to work.
Teddy grinned, "I'm glad I met you in this forsaken town. I'll see you after school?"
"You most definitely will! After all, we have an ice cream date!" [Name] answered back, feeling excited.
She was glad she met Teddy in geometry too.

For slutformacchio, I forgot to tag you earlier! I hoped you enjoyed this!
So, I'm announcing I'm closing requests. I'll probably still write oneshots, but I'm not fulfilling requests at the moment for various reasons. One, I have absolute no inspiration. It's quite obvious with the comments and lack of activity that my writing isn't as good as the earlier imagines.
So, I'm closing requests. Am I going to complete the ones I have left? I don't know. I don't want to, but I'll think about.
Also, remainder: don't put your name in the request. This book is READER-INSERT, therefore you're only going to see "[Name]."
