"Dude, this is serious. My dad might really send me to Oats Military Academy this time!" Ted said in utter despair to his best friend, Bill Preston, who looked just as mortified.
"This is most heinous! How will we convince your old man not to send you to Alaska?" Bill replied, trying to think of ideas to save his best bud from military school.
"I have no idea. I'm sure he's looking for plane tickets already!" Ted said with forlorn expression, which should never happen. Ted should always be happy and ready to rock n' roll.
"Wait, dude! I think I just came up with the most excellent plan to save you." Bill jollity said, feeling a hypothetical light bulb appear above his curly blond locks.
"Well, what is it, dude?" Ted questioned hastily, eager to hear Bill's genius plan.
"Okay, well, you know [Name] [Last Name], right? The really smart honors babe?" Bill asked, referring to one of the most intelligent girls in their grade.
"Yeah, what about her?" Ted inquired, a bit confused at first. What did [Name] have to do with Oats?
"Okay well, here's the plan, my amigo. We ask [Name] to fake date you for awhile, just so your old man lays off." Bill revealed, feeling a bit proud. Man, who knew he was so good at this?
"Wait what? What if [Name] says no? That would be bogus!" Ted replied, feeling a bit more skeptical and reluctant to carry out this plan. But then again, when did Bill's plans ever fail them?
I mean, they did pass history! Even if they received help [note: Rufus was the help], but who cares? They passed!
"She'll say yes, dude. [Name] is nuts for you." Bill reassured with a knowing smile.
"How do you know?" Ted questions.
"Okay, well you know Misty—I mean—MOM? Well, she's friends with [Name]'s older sister, and sometimes they mention [Name]'s love life. I overhear stuff, y'know." Bill revealed, which left Ted surprised at the revelation.
"Oh, really?" Ted mumbled, still dazed in shock. He wasn't expecting such a pretty and smart girl to find interest in HIM. Ted knows he's a ditz, he hears people talk about him sometimes. And while sometimes it hurts to hear people's general opinion of him, he chooses not to care.
He's destined for great things—both him and Bill. So, who cares what others think?
"Trust me, Ted. It'll work!" Bill reassures one last time before they start practicing their songs.
"What?" [Name] asks in surprise, still grasping her AP Chemistry books in her hands.
"Please [Name]..." Ted pleaded, unintentionally making a puppy face, which seemed totally lame of him but [Name] found it cute.
"Let me get this straight, Ted. You want to hire me as a fake girlfriend so your dad doesn't send you to Alaska for military school?" [Name] asked, repeating everything she heard to make sure she was right.
