TO PUT IT BLUNTLY, you had an awful and totally embarrassing crush on Ted "Theodore" Logan. You weren't embarrassed to like him, instead you were embarrassed on how you acted around him. It seemed as if logic flew out the window when he was in the same room as you.
But at least Ted seemed painfully oblivious to your crush, except you weren't sure if that was a great thing or not. You had history with both Bill, Ted's best friend, and Ted himself. While you were a whiz at history, Ted seemed utterly hopeless.
One day, before class began, you had your elbow propped on up on the table, supporting your head as you sighed. It wasn't fair, Ted was just simply too cute, and you weren't sure if you can handle it longer. But you weren't the only one who felt that way, your best friend also felt exasperated with your feelings towards Ted.
I mean, why don't you just tell him you like him and not her? It would save us all time, but of course, people don't listen to your best friend.
"Have you ever met someone whose smile looks like it could make flowers grow?" You ask, gazing at Ted as he sits down at his desk, joking around with Bill. Your best friend simply rolls her eyes, sitting down next to you.
"Jeez [Name], you might as well marry him." She tells you, but you turn and grin at her.
"Oh, trust me, I will if he likes me." You replied cheekily, but that seemed hilarious to your friend.
"Yeah? Good luck talking to him first." Your best friend scoffs back, and you stick your tongue out at her.
"Asshole." You mumbled, pulling out your binder as class starts.
After class, everyone begins walking out, but your history teacher halts you. You were calm, before noticing the tall boy next to you.
Oh gosh, it's Ted!
"Y-Yes, Mr. Ryan?" You managed to stutter out, looking like a fear-stricken cat. Mr. Ryan simply discounted your odd behavior, and continued with his statement.
"[Name], you're magnificent at history, which why I need you to help Ted improve his grades. You'll receive extra credit for tutoring him if you accept." Mr. Ryan proposes, and you briefly wonder who's tutoring Bill before realizing the offer.
You, who can barely compose herself around Ted, has the opportunity to hangout with him. Not to mention, you'll snag some extra credit while you're at it! I mean, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
So, without much hesitation or thinking, you quickly replied, "Sure!"
All of that, led to this moment, you next to Ted at the mall—studying—or at least attempting to. It was after school on a Thursday, and the mall seemed lively. It was the usual teenage hangout spot, even if you didn't go there often. There's no point if you're broke and unemployed!
Ted seemed to grow rather frustration memorizing history facts about the medieval England.
"History is the most boring, [Name]." Ted whines, turning to you with his puppy dog eyes. Oh dear, you couldn't really resist those eyes of his.
"Ted, it isn't too bad. If I quiz you, and you do an excellent job, we can take a break and walk around the mall!" You suggested, trying to appease the tall brunette boy.
"If you insist, babe." Ted complies, yet you're too focused on being called babe. If it had been anyone else, you wouldn't appreciate being called babe so much. But this was Ted, and all this did was make your heart flutter.
You go through the whole pile of flashcards, and luckily enough, Ted made minimal mistakes. This proved whatever techniques you were using on Ted was working, and he was ready for the quiz tomorrow.
You grinned widely, "Ted, you did an excellent job!"
Ted grins back widely, his eyes sparkly at the praise, "So, you wanna head to the arcade, my dude?"
"Of course!" You replied, gathering your stuff into your backpack. The two of you walked around the mall, browsing through stores, or playing games at the arcade.
You learned that Ted was a very skilled arcade player, is what you learned. He couldn't mask how triumphed he was as he handed you a stuff bear from the prizes counter. He had accumulated enough points to get one of the hardest prizes to gain, and you felt flustered and warm about it.
"Thanks Ted..." You mumble as the two of you walked out of the busy arcade. You still had the stuff bear in your hands, and it was quite cute.
"Anything for you, babe!" He exclaims back with a cute grin. He was so cute, you just couldn't believe all of this happened. I mean, wasn't this only suppose to be a study session? But you weren't complaining at all.
As you glanced at your wristwatch, your eyes widen in shock, "Oh crap, my mom is picking me up soon! It's already 5:40 PM!"
You really didn't want this time to conclude already, especially when the day ended up being totally awesome.
"I had an excellent time today, [Name]." Ted informs you, which made your heart fluttered. I mean, he liked your presence! That's worth feeling butterflies for.
"Me too. If you want, we should do this more often." You say, squeezing the unnamed stuff animal a little, anxious to hear his reply.
"Yeah, as a date, that would be bodacious." Ted replies, grinning when he notices how flustered you are.
"You sure are cute, [Name]." Ted points out, enjoying your embarrassment as the two of you walk to the parking lot.
"Thanks Ted, you aren't too bad yourself." You utter out, surprised you didn't managed to stutter. Luckily enough, Ted seemed pretty embarrassed too. Well, two can play at that game.
Honestly, you might need to thank Mr. Ryan for accidentally and unintentionally setting you up with Ted Logan. You haven't felt this happy in such a long time.
