That Friday afternoon Louise received a call from the accounting company, she interviewed, offering her a job with a better salary than she asked for. She had to start that Monday.  This time she could not wait to tell Clint, she texted him with the news.

"Wow, then we've got something to celebrate!" he answered.

She made Gregory's cupcakes for the next day and sorted her photos.  She decided to make him a nice scrapbook.  He can help her on Sunday afternoon after church.

Clint surprised her with a nice bottle of wine and fresh bread rolls with sausages. "We can always pretend that it's a barbeque," he said with a smile and add, "it's so nice to see you happy."

Gregory was glad about the cupcakes and was eager to set the table.  He rolled his eyes at her when she adds two wine glasses to the table.  She put a glass of fruit juice next to his plate.

"What do you have for us to decorate the cupcakes mom?" he asked before he took a bite of his role.

"Mmm, let me see, I've got smarties and I'll make you blue and brown icing sugar, is there another color you want?"

"Maybe white and yellow, then we can mix our own colors, you know, like light brown and green, that will be fun." he smiled as he sipped his juice.

Clint raised an eyebrow: "What's your friend's name, Gregory?" He asked and took a sip of his wine.

"David, and he will be here at twelve tomorrow, is that alright mom?  We would like to leave at half-past one to give us enough time to do the garden."

"That's fine with me mister, as long as you enjoy your birthday," Louise said with a smile at her own effort to use his new pet name.

"You know I love working in the garden mom."  He said as he took his plate to the zink.

"I know and I'm glad you have a friend with a garden," she smiled.

"He was quite talkative tonight," Clint said after Gregory left. "I was afraid that he would demand that you move back to your cottage when he learned that you got a job."

"I think he is looking forward to the weekend, I'll have to get him into an after-school center for the afternoons, or do you want us to get a place of our own?"

"No! Not after the nice family night we had tonight, it felt so homely, I can't imagine my apartment without the two of you."

"Thank you, Clint, I still can't believe it all worked out.  I appreciate it so much."

"Well, you can show me how much by watching this scary movie with me."  He smiled as he showed her the name.

"The sixth sense." She exclaimed with a lifted eyebrow.  "Some of the girls at my used to be office said that it is actually a good story.  I think I can handle that."

Gregory and Dave enjoyed the cupcakes and decorated it with cars, trees, and trains.  They left two for Clint and Louise and took the rest to David's house. His parents, Clive and Debra were friendly and happy to meet Gregory's mom.  She asked them about an after-school center and they immediately offered that Gregory could stay with David in the afternoons.   As Debra was a teacher, they would not be alone in the afternoons.
