After telling the boys everything that happened they got all mad and we had to calm them down. It was now seven and the sun was shining throughout the house while we just sat around the table staring at each other.
"Okay so what's going on?" I asked looking at everyone, which was followed by more silence. "Look why are we just sitting here staring at each other? It's like we're waiting for the next argument or fight."
"She's right," Kristina was looking at the front door. Than it hit me that the girls were probably still thinking about what we talked about in the room. Mason wouldn't do that to me, he's changed and he's so sweet.
"I can't do this anymore," Shay stood up. "Thinking is not working at all, hell it's making things worse."
"Making what worse?" Mathew furrowed his eyebrows together.
"Everything," Shay sighed.
"Well I think that more than what you told us is going on," Nick sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"Is this a dare or a bet or a joke or something?" Shay frowned while Kristina and I shifted uncomfortably.
"Is what?" Mathew looked up at her.
"Look people like me don't end up being happy and lovey dovey with people like Nick. Shay doesn't end up with people like Mathew. Mason you would never pick Malia with other girls running around the school. Look I know it sounds messed up but this shit doesn't happen. Shay and Mathew sometimes do end up together. But us we don't," Kristina let out a sigh.
"Well what type of people do we end up with?" Mason asked.
"You end up with the cute nerd and turn her in to a total badass. Nick ends up with whoever he gets pregnant," I let my gaze drop to the floor.
"Is that how you really feel?" Nick looked at each of us.
"No, of course not! We are just total messes and tired and need reassurance," Kristina sat up straight.
"Well this isn't a dare or a bet or a joke or anything like that," Mason was surprisingly calm.
"Sometimes people like us end up with people like you," Nick gave Kristina a small smile. It feels like they knew this conversation was coming. Mason would have started asking why we would ask these kinds of questions.
"I'm sorry," I stood up and walked to the front door.
"Wait! Malia," Mason put his hand against the door so I couldn't leave.
"What Mason?" I turned around and frowned at him.
"I know that it all seemed rehearsed, I know that. It's just that isn't the first time people have accused us of that. Except it was a joke or a dare to us and we would tell them. I actually fell for you, I feel hard. I can't let you walk out of here thinking any differently," Mason took my hand.
"How will I ever know?" I looked him in the eyes.
"I guess your heart will tell you or mine will," he took my hand and placed it on his heart. His heart picked up pace after my hand held onto his chest. "See it picks up pace just looking at you and this is how I feel every time I touch you."
"I'm just scared that your going to screw me over," I frowned at him.
"I would never do that to you, I love you to much Malia," he frowned.
"Promise," I studied his green eyes to make sure he was telling the truth.
"I promise I won't leave you and I promise I love you," he smiled.
