Y/N p.o.v:

You were on your way to a crossroad. It was late at night and a year since you lost your best friend to a drunk driver and he/she was the only thing that actually kept you alive. Now that they're gone, you're empty. All you do is cry at night. You can hardly eat or sleep. You stopped going to work and going out. Y/B/N wouldn't want this for you, but it felt like this was your only option left. You finally got to the crossroads and started digging when you heard a flutter behind you. You froze, terrified of what or who was behind you.
"Y/N." A gruff voice said. You turned around to see a man in a tan trenchcoat.
"Who are you?" You asked.
"I'm Castiel. Your guardian angel." He said. You saw something flutter behind him. Your eyes widened as you saw 2 large black wings.
"Why would someone like me have a guardian angel?" You asked him. He frowned.
"Because I'm here to help you. Making a deal and selling your soul to a demon isn't the way to go. You should come with me. I'll bring you somewhere safe." He said.
"No. I want to stay here. I need Y/F/N back." You said. He sighed.
"I promise you that they're in heaven and they're happy there. Don't take away their happiness for the sake of yours." He told you. You looked away not wanting him to see you crying.
"I feel so lost without him/her, Castiel. Y/F/N was the only thing that kept me going and I lost him/her to a drunk driver! I just want to see Y/F/N again." You whispered. Castiel sighed.
"I can't make you come with me, but I will check up on you twice a week. So please, don't do anything stupid while I'm away. Anytime you need me, just pray." He said lowly. You looked at him and saw his wings flap like he was going to leave again.
"Wait! Don't leave just yet. Please?" You pleaded. Castiel looked at you and nodded. He touched your forehead and you were suddenly back at your apartment. You walked to your couch and sat down. You patted the spot next to you, motioning for Castiel to sit down. He listened and sat down. His wings fluttered a little each time you looked at them.
'Wow his wings are really pretty.' You thought. Cas looked at you in surprise.
"What?" You asked.
"You can see my wings?" He asked. It was your turn to be surprised.
"Y-Yeah. How'd you know that?" You asked him.
"Because I can read minds. Humans can't see an angel wings unless they're soulmates." He answered. You stared at him in shock.
"I-I'm your soulmate?" You asked. He nodded.
"I always thought that it was a myth, but when Y/F/N died, I could physically feel your pain. I could feel how much he/she meant to you. I watched over you from then on." He said.
"And you just now decided to show up?" You asked. Castiel sighed.
"Well, yeah because, well, I-I have no good answer." He said and looked down in shame and embarrassment. You giggled and stroked his wings softly. He shuttered and looked up at you. There was some type of emotion that you didn't recognize, in his eyes.
"It's okay, Cas. I'm glad you decided to show up now." You whispered. Cas smiled and scooted a little bit closer to you. You continued to stroke his wings before he grabbed your wrist, stopping you.
"There certain spots on my wings that if you touch them, something will happen." He said lowly. You smirked.
"Like what?" You asked. He didn't answer, so you decided to continue touching them.
"Y/N, I'm warning you." He said in a deeper voice. You still didn't listen and touched a very soft spot lower down on his wings. Suddenly, Cas grasped your wrist and climbed on top of you. You fell back and your head hit the armrest. Cas's lips hovered over yours before he pulled back.
"I wasn't expecting that." You said breathlessly. You were still lying down in shock.
"I warned you, Y/N." Cas said. You laughed.
"I didn't really mind, Cas." You whispered.
"It's late. You should sleep." He insisted. You shook your head.
"I'm not tired." You told him. It was a lie. You wanted to spend more time with him.
"Don't lie to me. Go to sleep. I'll be here when you wake up." He said softly. You smiled and yawned. You got up and walked to your room. You lied down and pulled the covers over your body. You looked towards the doorway and saw Cas standing there.
"Goodnight, Y/N." He said. You smiled at him.
"Night, Cas." You whispered before falling asleep into a dream filled slumber.
