Cas's p.o.v:
I heard Y/N praying to me, so I flew to her. Y/N looked up at me with glossy eyes.
"Y/N? What's wrong?" I asked. Y/N buried her head into the palms of her hands again and let out a broken sob. I quickly went to her and wrapped my arms around her, trying to comfort her.
"I'm dying, Cas. I have stage 4 cancer. I might die." She said in a hurt filled whisper. I didn't say anything. I couldn't. My best friend, the one I cared for the most, was dying of cancer.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N." I whispered. Y/N shook your head and continued to sob. After hours of crying, she finally fell asleep in my arms.~months later~
Y/N had 5 days left to live. She was in the hospital, hooked to several machines. I visited her everyday. Although, her brothers still didn't know she had cancer. They didn't know she was in the hospital. They didn't know she was going to be dead in less than a week. I flew to Y/N. I didn't want her to feel alone. Y/N slowly opened her eyes and saw me at the end of her bed. She smiled shakily at me. It always made her happy when I came by to see her. I could tell by the glimmer in her eyes.
"H-hey, Cas." She greeted in hoarse whisper. I smiled sadly at her.
"Hello, Y/N." I said softly. Y/N started to cough violently all of a sudden. I was quick to be by her side. I grabbed the bucket that was by her side and held it up to her mouth, just in case. Y/N coughed a few more times, but didn't throw up thankfully. I put the bucket back on the table and pulled up a chair to sit in.
"C-Cas, if it's n-not t-too much trouble, I th-think I'm read-dy for Sam an-nd Dean to kn-now what's wr-rong w-with me." She said in a stuttery voice. I looked at her and tilted my head in confusion. They had hurt her so much already. What if this just hurts her more?
"Are you sure that that's what you want?" I asked. Y/N nodded her head weakly. I sighed and stood up. I pressed my lips to her forehead.
"I'll be back." I said and then flew to the bunker. I found Sam and Dean looking for a hunt on their laptops.
"Sam. Dean." I said gruffly. They both looked up.
"What's up, Cas?" Sam asked. I sighed and looked down.
"Its Y/N. She's- She's in the hospital." I whispered. I looked up again and saw that both Sam and Dean had worried looks. They looked at each other and then back at me.
"What?" They said in unison. I looked away again and cleared my throat.
"Uh, yeah. She's been in the hospital for the past few months. She has cancer. She only has a few days left to live. Y/N wanted to spend the last moments of her life with her only family." I told them. I let a few tears escape my flooded eyes. I looked back up and saw Sam and Dean get up.
"Take us to her." Dean demanded. His voice broke from the pain that was visible in his eyes. I walked towards them and flew all of us back to the hospital. We had landed right outside her door. I knocked softly and was about to open the door, but Dean stopped me.
"This is Y/N's room?" Dean asked.
"Yes." I answered. I knocked again.
"C-come in-n." Y/N commanded hoarsely in a stutter. I opened the door and we all walked through the door one at a time. I walked to Y/N's side and sat down in the chair I had pulled up earlier. Y/N looked over at her brothers who stared at her. She smiled at them.
"Y/N? I-is that really you?" Sam asked in a whisper. Y/N's smile widened.
"I-it's real-ly me, Sa-am." She answered. Sam was about to cry. It was noticeable the way his eyes were glossed over.
"Why didn't you tell us, Y/N?" Dean asked. Y/N's smile grew to a sad one.
"Bec-cause you n-never cared a-about me b-before." She told him. Sam's expression along with Dean's, was filled with pain, grief, and slight offense. Which could easily be mistaken for anger.
"Don't you say that, Y/N. Don't you say that! We have always cared!" Dean yelled. Y/N flinched and looked away. I put a warning hand on Dean's shoulder. He looked at me and took a deep breath. I removed my hand.
"We've always cared. Always." Sam whispered. Y/N frowned at Sam.
"Why didn't you ever show it?" She asked. Dean looked down and Sam sighed.
"We have no excuse. All I can say is that we should have showed it. We should have noticed that it was hurting you. How much pain you were in. And now- now you're going to be gone in just a few days." Sam said. I could read Dean's twisted thoughts. My head snapped up towards Dean as I heard the words I dreaded.
'If she dies, I die. I wasn't the big brother I should have been. But once she is gone, I'll be with her and I'll be the best goddamn brother there ever was.' Dean thought. I got up and grabbed Dean's arm. I flew us outside. I pushed him up against the wall roughly.
"What the hell, Cas?!" He yelled.
"You will not kill yourself, Dean Winchester! Y/N would kill you before you even had the chance to do it yourself if she heard about this! Think about how it would make her feel. Think about how it would make Sam feel if you killed yourself. Y/N wants you both to move on. She will finally be happy. You 2 were shit brothers. She wants you 2 to have the chance to be great brothers to each other! She knows her being gone will hurt you now. She knows you guys will be in pain, but she doesn't want to see you guys anytime soon. So do yourself a favor and do not kill yourself. I didn't raise your ass from hell for no reason, Winchester." I growled. I let go of Dean and took a step back. He stared at me with sadness and fear.
"I'm sorry." He said in a broken whisper. I sighed and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Let's get back."A/N:
There will be a part 3. It will not be up very soon because I am very very busy with school. Anyway, I hope this was good!
