'Tis another sad day, full of sorrow and tears.
A young girl simply sits in her room,
while the adults drink their beers.
Sister won't play,
and her friends moved away.
Too young to know, to young to understand.
She looks up at her mirror
and is shocked to see another girl
solemnly staring back.
"What's wrong? Are you all right?" She asks.
She crawls over with everything she has,
with all of her might.
She offers a smile,
hoping this friend will stay for a while.
She vents and vents,
hoping the other will understand.
She cries some more with her only friend.
Too much kindness,
too much love for this mysterious girl.
She grows up a bit more, as does the other.
Her best friend is like none other she's had.
This one is loyal, this one is kind.
This one listens, and speaks her mind.
Exactly alike, but completely different.
One day, however,
she learns about reflection.
One day, she realizes her affliction.
Her best friend, her only friend,
never existed at all....
