"Tyree can you please make sure that you're not so rude to our customers?" I asked my new front desk assistant who was also Quan's cousin. He had just finished high school and he was in need of a job so I decided to try him out.
"Alright Boss Lady." He said as he leaned back and began filing his nails. I was tempted to fire him. It hadn't even been that long and I was tired of his ass. The only thing that made me change my mind was because I had a little soft spot in my heart for the kid.
I looked at the time and noticed that my last client was late. "Tyree, can you call my last appointment and see if they are coming in."
"I'm on it."
"Thanks and after call your big headed ass cousin and tell him he needs to come back with my damn car." I shook my head. After I had finished Quan's tattoo piece he had asked to use my car and I let him. Only thing was that it was well over five hours since then.
"You sure are bossy."
"Do you want to get fired?"
"Now you know I need this job."
"Then cut your little comments out. I may be cool with your cousin but I am not that cool with you little boy."
He turned his head and placed his hand on his chest as if he couldn't believe what I had said. "I'm no little boy, I am a lady. Respect my title."
I took in his appearance today. He had his face beat to the Gods and was slightly dressed up more than usual. He kind of reminded me of Magic Johnson's son after the gastric bypass.
"Okay Miss Thang." I giggled and snapped my fingers in Z-formation.
I headed to the back to get my phone so that I could call and check on Juju. She didn't go to North Carolina as planned due to Justin's parents not answering their phones so my parents decided to keep her with them in Hawaii. I was lowkey bummed because this was the first summer that she had missed down there and I knew that she was looking forward to going and seeing them.
As I wrapped up the phone call, Tyree came in. "The girl cancelled but she rescheduled for next week and I told her that she has to pay a one hundred and twenty five dollar cancellation fee because Siani is the baddest up and coming tattoo artist in these fucking streets."
"Tyree the cancellation fee is not even that much." I sighed.
"I know but I need some extra money in that paycheck." He flipped his imaginary weave. I can't with him.
"Alright and what about your cousin?"
"No answer."
"Okay well then we are done for the day, I don't have anything for tomorrow right?" I checked.
"Not for the next two days. And someone called earlier and wanted to know if you did tattoo parties, I told them yes because you need those damn coins."
"Oh my goodness." He really had to go.
"What?"
"Nothing man, just go on home." I waved him off.
"Hoes getting mad because I'm trying to put them on." He mumbled before rushing out.
I tried Quan one last time and if he didn't respond then I was going to kill him when I saw him.
--
"Hello?" he answered.
"Where are you at? I'm finished and ready to go home."
"Okay."
"Okay? Okay?" I yelled. "I swear Ja'Quan if you used my car to go see some bitch I am going to kill you! Where were you that you have been ignoring me all day, huh? You got me fucked up if you think for one second that you are going to play me."
