Background

Michael and Nate has had a crush on each other for who knows how long. Nate has been planning a way to confess to Michael for a long time but none was perfect and if it was he back out. Nate is confident yes but when he comes near Michael he get nervous, and when it came to asking him on a date or even confessing his words became all jumbled up. One day he finally gets the courage to ask Michael out for dinner after work and Michael agrees but thinks Nate wouldn't like him for him. Michael changes all his interests lying about everything he likes and hates thinking Nate would like the him that likes what he likes.

Michael's POV

I was getting ready for my date with Nate. It was absolutely spectacular. I put on a nice white Button down and put on a grey vest over it. I wore black dress pants and black dress shoes. The door bell suddenly rings and I go to open the door. Standing outside was the one nod only Nate. I gave him a smile and he handed me a bouquet of white roses and blue orchids. It was beautiful. I gladly took it and he gestured to his arm which I happily took. We walk to the restaurant which was fine with me because I liked walking and exercising.

We walked in and Nate already made a reservation. We walked to our reserved table and sat down. I looked out the window looking at the beautiful water and the stars and moon reflected. Someone suddenly grabs my hand and I turn around staring into mates beautiful green eyes.

"So tell me about yourself.." He starts.

(By the way I'm making this up you know what Nate likes and what Michael{guy} likes)

"W-well I like swimming and other sports. My favorite color is red. I don't like to eat unhealthy and junk food. I love protein shakes. My favorite think to do in my free time is work out or run sometimes swim. How about you?" I asked hoping he would like the me that actually wasn't.

"I love swimming. I like saving lives because it makes me feel complete. Junk food are fine I would have some but not too much. I love red and in my free time I go on a run or swim." He said.

"We have a lot in common..Michael..." He says.

I just nods my head frowning knowing that if he falls in love with me tonight he would be falling in love with the real me. We looked at the menu and we ordered buttered chicken, nachos and French toast. For drinks I ordered a pink lemonade and he got red wine.

"So why not wine?" He questioned.

"I-i don't think I should have tonight because...um..I already had last night." I said making up an excuse.

"But you hate wine." He chuckles.

I look down in embarrassment. I sat there listening to Nate and speaking occasionally when he asks questions. The food eventual came and we would feed each other sometimes.

After dinner and we payed for the bills he walked me back home. A frown on my face. We arrived and I turned to look at him.

"Listen..I'm glad we went out tonight. Although I didn't feel like myself tonight." I said.

"Why did you catch a cold?" He asked.

"Yea..b-but I wanted to tell you something...I-I....I really like you Nate." I said not expecting what he said next.

"I'm sorry..but I don't like the you tonight." He said.

I smiled nodding my head slowly. I opened the door to my house and waved goodbye to him.

I walked in and went to my room not changing falling on the bed crying. I felt broken my empty. I eventually fell asleep.

The next few days Nate stopped talking to me. I felt lost. I missed how his beautiful green eyes would stare into my sky blue ones. How his hair would flip perfectly. His voice calling my name. I missed him. His warmth, kind words, and how he would laugh when I'm embarrassed to make me feel better.

Nate's POV

Michael hasn't been at work recently. I decided to go see him today after my shift was over.

-3 hours later-

For once I'm happy my shift ended sooner than usual. I walked to Michaels house and knocked.

"C-coming!" His voice cracked indicating that he has been crying.

He opens the door and I frown at his current state.

"N-Nate...what are you doing here?" He questions with a shocked look.

"Getting to know the real you." I said.

He looks at me confused and I sigh smiling at his stupidity.

"Listen. I know that you weren't being yourself when I took you out to dinner. You hate protein shakes and you obviously hate working out. You live for junk food but also love vegetables. You would never drink wine even if your life depended on it and you can go a day without making a stupid pun. Even though your puns a stupid it's what makes me love your the real you." I confess.

His eyes widen and tears stain his cheek as he smiles.

"I rejected you because I knew that. I also know you have been crying." I say chuckling.

"How abut a do over date? Hm?" I ask him.

"I would love that." He said.

"And let's get Kawaii~chan to make the food this time." I said making him chuckle.

"The food was great but it was too much for my tastebuds to handle." I said making him chuckle.

"That would be purrrfect." He said rolling the 'r'

"There's the Michael I know and love." I said kissing his cheek.

"Also.. Michael?"

"Yea?"

"I love you...just the way you are"

The sun setting. We lean in sharing a passionate kiss making sparks fly and the butterflies are set free from after being locked up in a cage of fear. My heart beats faster like waking from an eternal sleep. We pull away and share a heartwarming smile.

"You mine." I say.

He giggle and nods. Getting lost in his sky blue orbs I feel myself playing with his brown hair.

"I love you Michael."

"I love you to Nate.."
