Travis' POV

I watched as Zane walked down the hall. He was in my home room class and he sat next to Aphmau. Although we tried talking to him, he never did become our friend or even fond of us. Sometimes when we came up to him, he'd give us the cold shoulder or groan in annoyance. He was never really bullied by anyone that isn't Gene, someone he looks up to. It disappointed me that he never really talked to me. I always had to start the conversation, and because we are in high school he's taller than me. I haven't gotten my growth spurt yet.

I sighed and walked down the hall to my global class. I had it with Zane and we were partners. Everyday is the same. 'You work on yours and I'll work on mine. No need to talk. Easy.' He would say.

I walked through the door and sat down in my seat. Zane was already there. Once the teacher walked in and started on todays lesson.

"Okay So partner A will get worksheet 1 and Partner B will get worksheet 2. This should help for a project I will be assigning next week. Work together to get the information and answers or you won't do well on the project." She said.

I sighed and looked at Zane.

"So partner A. What will we do?" I asked.

"Just work on yours. I'll do mine. At the end we will exchange papers and read it. Problem solved." He groaned.

I nod my head and get up to grab our worksheets. I hand his to him and start on my own.

The bell finally rings and we pack our stuff. Everyone rushed out the class room, seeing as this is the last period of the day.

Before Zane could leave I grab his arm, stopping him from moving any farther.

"Why don't we hang out today?" I ask.

"Why? I have no interest in being friends." He spat.

"Well..I do.." I said.

"Listen. Even if I wanted to be friends, it's not like we will see each other again. I'm not going to go to your wedding and you won't mine. I'm not going to share my salt and pepper with you and you won't either. I won't ask you to stay over at my house to get away from friends or will I to you."

'Oh boy were you wrong.'

We never became friends but we never stopped seeing each other since I was still friends with your brothers. You grew to tolerate me. But whenever I asked to hang out you would refuse or just ignore me like you didn't hear. It hurt me but I never did want to stop trying. Till this day..I still love you. But your rejections hurt like a stab to the heart. Flirting with others and making them flustered makes me feel wanted and loved even if I want to feel wanted and loved by someone else. I was always to scared to actually ask you out, too scared you wouldn't like me back, too scared of rejection..so I only threw hints at you I though made it obvious..

"Hey Zane."

You looked at me with an confused expression. It had been a while since I had talked to you. It's been a while since we've seen each other.

"Hey..what's up?" You questioned.

"Nothing much..just..uh..just wondering if you were free..I wanted to hang out." Nervously laughing after the last sentence, knowing what your answer was but I still wanted to try..not to give up..after sooo long I wasn't ready to replace you. I've spent too much time and effort into making you return my feelings..but deep down..deep deep down inside of me....I knew it was difficult for the impossible to happen.
