It was the first day of school and also Aaron's first day of his junior year. Aaron walked down the stairs of his home with his uniform on. He walked into the kitchen where his mom left his breakfast on the table. His parents had already left for work and his sister, Melissa, was most likely still asleep. Aaron grabbed his breakfast and a bottle of water, stuffed it in his bag, and left his house. He sighed once he was out. He had always felt suffocated in that house hold. His parents were very controlling with him hiding the fact that he was a Ultima. Not only that, Aaron had also come out to then when he was a sophomore in Phoenix drop and his father was not happy. However, despite not being happy, nothing did change..the only thing that did was that his dad was also trying to cover the fact that Aaron was gay on top of him being an Ultima. Aaron was fed up and wanted to run away but he couldn't. He knew if he did he wouldn't have anything and most likely wouldn't make it, so he put up with everything.

While walking to school he noticed two males on the other side of the sidewalk. He found out it was Gene, the leader of the shadow knights, and Dante, Genes younger brother. Gene had always caught his eye. Not only was he a hottie, he had an attitude and he broke the rules. Gene had the courage he didn't have to stand up to his parents. Aaron has a crush on Gene, but he doesn't know it yet. The feelings he get when he's around Gene are those of what people get when they are with the person they love, but he doesn't know it yet.

Aaron turned back around when he realized school was in his view. Had he really been staring at Gene the whole time he was walking? He blushed a light pink and furrowed his brows. He didn't understand what he was feeling. Was it admiration? Hatred? He didn't know. What he did know was that when he got to his home room class, Gene was actually there and not only that, he sat right next to Aaron. Aaron didn't expect that. Well...he did. He was sat at the back corner of the classroom and none of genes friends were in the same grade as him so they were separated.

"Hey!"

Aaron hear.

He turned his head to his left and saw Gene staring straight at him.

"You got paper?" Gene asked.

Aaron didn't say anything or show any expression. He just took out a sheet of empty paper and gave it to him.

"Thanks. Appreciate it."

Gene rolled the paper into a ball and threw it at  the teacher who was looking at the attendance and frowning at the fact that many students didn't even show up to the first day back to school.

The now angry teacher looked up and around the classroom filled with students stifling their laughs. Once he saw Gene he calmed down and continued his work.

"Aww that was boring~" Gene whined.

Aaron rolled his eyes and laid his head down so he could sleep.

"You know. With that 'I don't care' attitude of yours, you'd make a good member for the shadow knights. Why don't you join?" Gene smiled.

Aaron looked up and when he saw the smile his face flushed immediately but he put his head down right after he noticed his face getting hot. He tried giving a reply in the 'stern' tone he could muster.

"No." He replied.

Gene frowned but Aaron didn't see it.

"Alright but my offer still stands if you change your mind." Aaron then heard Gene put his elbow on the table and most likely rest his head on it.
