Coughing and hacking. Petals flying everywhere. The blond sat in his room staring at the ground where most of his petals laid.

"Hey! Blondie! You alright in there." His friend Dante asked.

"Yea I'm fine! I think I'm just getting sick!" Garroth replied back in a shaky voice.

"But it's the middle of summer?"

"You know I have a weak immune system."

"Didn't you say that you have a strong immune system. You never get sick in the winter even if all you wear out is a sweater." Dante said.

"I guess you have a point. But me getting sick means I'm healthy!" Garroth replied back with a forced chuckle.

"Okay..take care. I'm going to hang out with Vylad." Dante said.

"Okay." As much as Garroth didn't want Dante to go and hang out with his baby brother..but that wasn't the most important now.

Garroth slowly got up with his wobbly legs and started to clean up his mess. He held all the petals in his hands and some in his arms.

"Hey Garroth!" It was Travis.

"What you got there in your hands?" Travis asked.

"Do you believe in the Hanahaki disease?" Garroth asked.

"Hah no." Travis laughed.

"Well better refrain from that sentence cause..I have it." Garroth turned around after putting some petals in his mouth and spitting it back out in his hands with a fake cough.

"Dude I almost believed you!" Travis laughed.

"Haha. Well these are actually petals I'm using for a Zane's birthday party we are throwing. He loves the color of Sakura and this was the closest I could find unless I use fake ones." Garroth easily lied.

"Bro! You're such a good brother." Travis exclaimed.

"Yea."

Travis left, going to work leaving Garroth alone with Laurence still asleep in his room. He quickly cleaned up, throwing the petals out and cleaning the little bits of blood on his room floor from harshly hacking so much. He started doing the dishes when he started to cough again. This time blue petals of a hydrangea came out. It slowly turned purple and fell to the sink. He continued washing the dishes, not minding the petals one bit. Right after he cleaned up the petals by throwing them into the trash can.

"Morning Garroth!" A voice Garroth loved was heard behind him.

"Morning Laur!" Garroth chirped.

"I'm going out to Lucinda's house! I agreed to hang with her and help her with some potions! If everything goes right I can finally pop up the question." Laurence happily said.

Garroth forcibly chuckled and congratulated him. His heart felt as if someone was squeezing it. It hurt.

~ 4 Months Later ~

It had been a few months now since Garroth have been presented with the Hanahaki disease. He has only told his family. His mom broke down crying with his father there comforting her. He was taking some time off now and then to visit Garroth and take care of him. When he told Vylad and Zane a few weeks later..Vylad had the same reaction as his mother. Zane seemed genuinely worried. In the middle of the FaceTime call Garroth started hacking harshly. Many petals fell out and more blood painted the floor than before.
