Percy POV
Why am I even here? I wonder as I sit in the library. Did I only come here because some strange voice out of be air said to? I've really got to get my head checked out.

Suddenly, the door opens and Annabeth and her friends walk in.

Please don't see me. Please don't see me. I plead, but they see me and come over.

"Hey, Peter," Annabeth greets.

What in Hades are you doing here? "Hey."

"Could we join you?"

"Sure." No! 

They all sit down and start bombarding me with questions.

"So, Peter, where do you live?"

"In a house."

"Do you live with your parents?" Jason asks.

"My mom died and my stepdad takes care of me now."

Jason and Grover look at each other and Grovers asks, "Do you know who your mom is?"

"Yeah. Diane Johnson. I kept her last name rather than taking my stepdads."

"Where are you from?"

"Manhattan."

Annabeth POV
I can't stand it any longer. "Where did you get those scratches on your wrist from?"

He looks shocked for a moment. "Uh...I accidentally fell into a thorn bush when I tripped backwards over a log. My house is in the woods."

Lame excuse. "Oh."

"You think just because I wear dark clothes and hide, I do stuff to myself?"

"No!"

"Yes, you do."

"I didn't come in here just to ask you questions, I want to get to know you."

"Sorry, but if you value your life, you'd stay away." Peter gets up. "I've gotta go. See ya around."

He leaves and we're all shocked.

"I'm...that was interesting," Grover commented.

"What do you think we should do?" Thalia asks.

"I think he's the son of Hades," Nico says, leaning against the shelves. "He's literally like me."

"I'm being serious, Nico. Annabeth, what do you think?" 

"For now, earn his trust, get to know him, then find out the truth about him."

"He said to stay away."

I snort. "Our parents are gods. You really think we're going to listen to a simple mortal?"

Piper grins. "Nope."

"Then let's do this. Tomorrow, Jason and Piper, force Peter to come to our lunch table. Use charmspeak if you have to."

"Aye eye, Captain."

"We're going to find the truth about Peter Johnson and nothing's going to stop us."

Percy POV
Little did they know that I heard everything they just said. 

They're not going to find out anything about me. No matter how much they pry, I will make sure they don't get what they want. I will do anything I can to make sure this happens.

Even if it kills me.
