Monday
Percy POV
It's Monday and I still haven't gotten the conversation with Vance out of my head. He tricked everyone! But how? He wasn't the son of a magic user so what?

During lunch, I go up to their table, which surprises them.

"Hey, guys, can I eat lunch with y'all?" They nod and I sit in a vacant chair.

Vance raises an eyebrow. "What do you need, Peter?" he asks.

He knows I'm up to something. "Is it wrong to sit here?" I challenge. "You offered the invitation. Are you having second thoughts?"

"No, of course not!" Hazel exclaims and gives Vance a dirty look.

Annabeth picks at her food and doesn't look at me. "So, I heard you know who we are." She glared at Thalia, who returned it with a more menacing look.

Hazel whispered to me, "She kept asking questions so Thalia told her and she got angry."

I nodded and faced the table. "I think it's cool. Being half gods, having powers, and the fighting! You guys are probably great with a sword!"

"Have you ever practiced with a weapon?" Jason asks.

"Once or twice. I gave up after a while. I'm not very good."

"We could give you a few lessons."

"And show you a few moves. I'm pretty good with a sword," Leo brags and everyone rolls their eyes.

"How about after school in the wrestling gym?"

"We have a wrestling gym?"

"Yeah, but no one except the custodian goes in there. They shut it down a year ago when a boy almost the skull of his opponent." The opponent was me and the boy was a jock named Zeke, who got expelled after. It was for PE.

"Where is it?" Frank asks.

"The small building on the roof."

"I guess we'll see you there then."

"See ya." I get up and walk away.

Vance POV
Sword fighting? Jackson is so going down! He hasn't picked one up in years! But at the same time, he was considered the best swordsman at camp. Oh well.

"Should we really do this?" Annabeth asks.

"Yeah," I say.

"Why not?" Jason answers. "If he is a demigod, we should see what he's got. Besides, I need the practice."

"Why are y'all so adamant against this?" Thalia questions.

"He knows too much about us already. What if he's a monster and we don't know it?"

"Grover didn't smell anything on him, did you?"

"No." Grover picks nervously at his collar. "But I did pick up a faint sense."

"Of what?"
