Percy POV
I groggily get out of bed and saunter into my bathroom.

Gabe had another beer fest and beat me until I past out. Now I have a black eye, broken rib, and cuts all over. I grab my black hoodie and pull that over me. Since I don't grow, I have had this forever. It hides me. Mostly.

I look in the mirror. Instead of jet black hair, I have brown and my sea green eyes are now dull to unrecognizable. Every time I go to a new school, I have a different look—hair and facial structure, etc.. The only thing that stays the same is my eye color. This year, the only thing that changes is my hair. I look mostly like the first me, which is really weird to see because I hadn't seen him in a century.

I grab an apple from the fridge and attempt to sneak past Gabe, but he catches me.

"Where you going, punk?" He demands. No matter how much my appearance changes, I'm still the same teen I was a hundred years ago.

"School," I answer and attempt to walk past him but he slams me into the wall.

"Be home by four with a pack of beer. Or else." I gulp. He punches me in the stomach and walks away.

I slowly get up and try to hurry to school. I missed the bus. Ugh. I walk down the halls and to my new locker. It's the same every year. The locker between ten empty ones.

Suddenly, I'm whirled around and pushed into the lockers. It's the senior football team captain, Dylan Adams. Great. He's bullied me since coming here!

"Hey, punk!"

I nod. "Did you need something?"

"You're in my way."

"Sorry."

"'Sorry's not going to cut it. Pay up!"

"I don't have anything."

"You have a lunch don't you?"

"Yeah. Kind of."

"Hand me that."

"But I won't have anything to eat!"

"Too bad!" He attempts to pass me, but I stand in front of him and hold my ground.

"No."

"What did you say, boy?"

"No. You're not going to take my lunch. By the way, you might want to brush your teeth; it smells like dragon's breath."

His faces goes red with anger and he punches me in the stomach. I go down immediately and start coughing. He grabs my lunch and slams the door. "Thanks for the food."

I groan and get up. Now, I have nothing to eat. That's just fantastic. I'll probably just hang out in the library or the halls then.

I get my books and run to class, narrowly missing the bell. Thank goodness! Wait...nope. I have math first period.

The day goes by pretty slowly and when the dismissal bell rings, I sprint outside as fast as I could and down the street to a store for beer.

"Lets see." I mumble, trying to figure out which ones he likes. I find them and place them on the counter to pay for.

"Aren't you a little young to be getting this much beer?" The cashier asks.

"It's alright, newbie," the manager says, coming up. "I know the kid and his stepdad. He always buys here. Go mop the aisles. I'll handle this."

"Yes, sir."

"Thanks," I say and pay for the beer.

I run home. 4:01. I'm late. I open the door and put the beer on the counter before trying to sneak up to my room, but Gabe catches me.

"You're home late!" he exclaims.

"Sorry, it won't happen again."

"I know it won't and to make sure you know, you're going to have some fun with me and my buddies."

Oh no. Gabe grabs me by the collar and drags me into the dining room where his friends, Steve and Drake are.

"Hey, Boys!" He exclaims and throws me in front of them. "I got ourselves another friend for tonight."

"Always room for one more." Steve takes out his switchblade and sharpens it.

They advance toward me. I try to back up, but there's no place to go. I'm trapped. In seconds, they have me down and are hitting, cutting, punching, and kicking me all over.

Why me? I wonder and pass out.
