Percy POV
"What are you talking about?" I ask acting clueless.

"Done pretend you're not. I know you're Percy Jackson, saver of the gods, ultimate hero, and betrayer of Olympus."

"What gave it away? My good looks?"

"The fact that you would stay away from us, knew so much about Greek mythology, and hated me from the moment you saw me the other day."

"Was that you I saw? I could've sworn I saw an ogre mixed with giant."

Vance's face gets super red and he kicks me in the stomach. I fall backward and slide across the floor where by bag is. I reach for my phone  and hit the record button then put it in my pocket. He doesn't notice though because all he's doing is rambling on and on.

"I knew it was you! I'm so smart!"

"Oh, shut up." I roll my eyes. "You're more annoying than Kronos talking about how's he going to take over the world."

He scowls. "I'm so much better than you still."

"Better at being annoying and getting on people's nerves. By the way, how's your ankle?"

"It's good. No thanks to you. Yeah, that's right. I know you took the ambrosia and nectar from Annabeth's bag."

"Yeah, I just said that like two seconds ago. Now, get out. I have a life and I don't want you in it."

"Aren't you wondering if I'm going to tell the others? They'll kill you when they find out."

"Should I be worried?"

"No, but only because I want to have all the fun with me being the only one who knows."

"And who exactly are you? I know you're not a son of Poseidon.

"I'm the son of Akhyls, goddess of misery, and I'm pretty good at being like her."

"First of, you are not good at being like her. And second, I made her run away from me and Annabeth in Tartarus by controlling her blood. She ran so fast and stumbled so many times while crying in misery. Do you think I can't do that to you?" I smirk.

"You promised Annabeth you wouldn't."

"You're right, but it doesn't mean I can't take you down."

"I'd like to see you try. After last time you tried to take me down, you got disowned and Poseidon named me his favorite. I can make a pretty good convincing son of Poseidon."

"Yeah...no, you cannot."

"And why not?"

"You don't look like one. We have either black hair or sea green eyes or both. You have dark red hair and brown eyes. Plus, you're...how do I say this? Not the most brightest of boys like the sons of Poseidon are."

"I am too bright! I'm smart!"

"What's two plus two then?"

It takes him a moment to think. "Five!"

"I stand corrected."

"You think you're so smart, don't you?" Vance sneers.

"I'm smart enough to know that two plus two is four!"

"I thought you said three!"

"Whatever."

"I had to prove to my mother I am just like her. I'm the son of misery! Someone crying out in pain is music to my ears."

"You're sick. You know that, right?"

"Yep and my mother would be proud of me."

"You know I could everyone what you just told me?"

"Yeah, but I know you wouldn't."

"And what makes you think that?"

"Tell one soul about this conversation and I'll kill everyone you love."

"They're all dead."

"No, they're not. You care about Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank, Nico, Thalia, Leo, Calypso, Grover, and all the demigods back at Camp Half-Blood."

"They betrayed me. Why would I care if they got hurt or not?"

"Because you're loyal and that means no matter how much someone hurts you, you stick with them."

"A century has passed. Wouldn't you think I'd be done with that by now?"

"If you were done with it, you would've already killed them."

"I've been a little busy trying to get them to not find out who I am!"

"Because you know by telling them, they could care about you again and that would be another ten deaths on your list."

He got me there. "So if I tell anyone anything you told me, Annabeth and the other demigods will die?"

"Yes, and it'll be all your fault, just like those last one hundred fifty that died because of you."

"How did you know that?"

"I've been keeping a close eye on you this past century. I lost where you were this year and now I find you again."

"Stalker much?"

"I'm not a stalker! I just know everywhere you've been!"

"Yeah, a stalker."

Vance groans. "Let's just say if you tell anyone about this, I'll kill your friends." He snorted. "It's not like they'd believe anything you say now."

"Tell me again, why did you choose now to tell me who you were?"

"If I did it before, you would've attacked me. Now, you're so broken and careless you can't."

"You're right, but don't think I haven't forgotten."

"Oh, I know you haven't forgotten. Why do you think I came here with the others? Just to come? No. I came to see how you were holding up and didn't forget any detail about that day."

My blood goes hot with anger. "I think you should leave. Now."

He laughs. "Fine, fine. I'll see you around Percy Jackson, I mean, Peter Johnson. Remember what I said: one word to the others..." he made a slicing motion to the neck. "And they're dead."

My blood grows hotter. "Leave." He does.

I sit down on a bench and think. Vance has everyone wrapped up around his finger. If I have any hope, I have to show everyone who he really is but not saying anything. This was going to be tough. I remember the video. I take it out of my pocket and replay it. Word for word it recorded. He can't deny this now.

Vance said I was broken and careless and that's why I didn't attack him. Well, tomorrow, he was going to get a shock of his life.
