A/N: Sorry guys for not uploading in awhile but I'm back in rhythm and ready to continue this! And wow thanks for all the reads and the support ❤️ And if it's confusing anybody, usually when I say 'shift' I mean when she changes into her animal form but sometimes I mean like when she moves her weight around when feeling uncomfortable. Does that make sense? I'm terrible at explaining things.

Armaline? What did that mean exactly? I frown at the question and continue to walk close behind Bofur, on the narrow mountain trail. I'm sure whoever had saved me that night, didn't tell anyone except Lord Elrond. Even he, didn't want to talk to me about it. When I woke up, it was early in the morning and I was immediately told to pack up my stuff so we could sneak out on time. No one in the company knew about my near death experience and I'm kinda thankful for that. Although, knowing who saved me would be nice. I don't like being in debt. All that was a few days ago and everyone was silent as we proceeded on the journey, which was pretty nerve wrecking. I stumble on some loose rocks and bump into the hatted Dwarf in front of me. He shouts in surprise but regains his footing and glances over his shoulder. I mutter a quick apology at his concern and keep my gaze low to hide embarrassment. All this thinking is throwing me off big time.

A low rumble of thunder begins to echo in the distance, making my head snap up. Dark clouds make their way towards us, not looking very friendly. I curse under my breath and push myself closer to the rock wall next to me. The path was beginning to get a bit more dangerous and the rain will only make navigation harder. Oh how I miss that darn cloak of mine. A small drop of rain hit my nose, causing me to scrunch it up like a bunny would. Another drop hits my cheek, then another one on my hand and another and another until it covered everything. Well this is bringing back some unpleasant memories. A strong gust of wind catches me off guard, making me lose my balance. I let out a yelp as the force makes some rocks disappear from beneath me. A firm grip from behind takes hold of my waist before my body could fully lean over the edge. They pull my small body with a grunt and keep their arm there, to make sure I was safe. I pat Dwalin's big hand to say thanks and he lets go with a sharp nod. I'm glad he's the one behind me and not Bilbo. As if on que, the Hobbit also shouts as some rocks give way and Gloin swiftly grabs his coat.

"We must find shelter!" Thorin roars from far ahead. Even his voice is stronger than the laughter coming from the viscous clouds above. I wipe my eyes to get a better view but it does very little. The sky had gotten darker within seconds and the wind and pouring rain, grew fiercer.

"Look out!" Dwalin's warning makes my eyes widen, as a large boulder appears out of nowhere, heading straight for us. The impact made a small earthquake, allowing rubble to fall down like the rain.

"This is no thunder storm! It's a thunder battle!" Balin states and points to one of the moving objects, "Look!"

I gasp as a giant emerges from the darkness, scraping off a pile of rocks from a nearby mountain. It throws it's arm back and launches another boulder in our direction.

"Well, bless me! The legends are true!" Bofur stares in wonder and steps off to the side to get a better view, although leaving himself more exposed. "Giants! Stone giants!"

The large rock soars over us and crashes into the face of another giant. It falls back into the mountain, which causes more stones of different sizes to come down. I grab Bofur by his hood, seeing that he was still in shock and press myself closer to the mountain wall. Dwalin places an arm in front of me to keep me steady, when things begin to grow worse.

The ground underneath begins to shake even more and if it weren't for Dwalin, I would be over the edge. All the shouting draws my attention, allowing me to see the rest of the group further away. Wait no. They're not the ones that are moving. Wind hits my face as we are being taken away from the others, thanks to the rock leg we're stuck on. I scream when there's another large impact, that makes my back hit the surface behind me hard. I gasp at the loss of air and grip the arm in front of me tightly, not caring if my nails dig into skin. There's another giant in front, battling out with the one we're currently stuck on. A fist suddenly comes above us, freeing more rubble and sending us closer to one of the normal mountains. The other half of the group, can only stare as we quickly pass them by. Someone shouts my name but I'm too focused on the sharp spike, coming closer towards us. I yelp while lifting my arms up in defense, feeling myself being launched into the air. There's a moment where my body is flying, until I land on a safe spot with Bofur and Dwalin next to me. There's a small ache and sting growing but nothing major, luckily.
