A/N: So the scene in Mirkwood was super hard for me to do and was confusing me. Also I know there are probably tons of grammar mistakes (Definitely Spelling) and I apologize for that, I type fast and sometimes when I go back to edit I don't notice it right away. I changed the Mirkwood scene up a bit to make things kinda easier, sorry if it's hard to understand or not to your liking. I'm trying to describe the agony Mira is feeling and since she's a Skin-Changer its worse for her. But at the same time I don't want to repeat words so I might make it short. And thanks for all the reads and votes! So many ~ 0.0 ~

Groans vibrated through my throat upon feeling awful sensations all over. A massive headache had formed and the nausea was unbearable. I slowly open my eyes, not remembering anything. Something cold circles around my ankles and wrists, I shiver and search for the source. Shackles cover my limbs and when I try to open my mouth, I realize that's tightly bound as well. I growl lowly, when did I even shift? Someone sighs within the cramped cell, causing my fur to stand along with a failed attempt to getting up. There's a loud thud from my fall and I land back on my stomach with a grunt. Wow, it's like they made these cuffs specifically for animals like me.

"Don't move. They hooked you up to the wall so you won't be able to get up."

My ears twitch but my nerves instantly calm, once I notice the familiar presence of my mate. He leans against a stone wall, with a troubled look on his features and strokes his bottom lip with his finger. I whimper, trying to get up but falling again thanks to the secure bindings. Thorin snaps his attention to me at my movements and sighs heavily.

"You've been out for awhile now." He says lowly and begins circling around my body, eyes narrow. "I know you can't speak so you will listen." I flinch at his demanding tone but lower my head to show my submission. "Why all the secrets?" His intense glare causes me to look away in shame. He moves around like I'm his prey and doesn't show any mercy in his words, "Have you been my enemy this entire time?"

His hand touches my side gently and I grunt, expecting to feel some sort of abuse. I peer back at him, hearing the chains clank against the stone floor. He continues to softly stroke my fur but there's a lot of sadness evident in his eyes. I try to move closer but I stop, afraid of what he'll do. Would he actually do harm to me?

"Back in Mirkwood... You said something," he steps away to kneel down at my level, in front of me. The confusion builds up and I anxiously wait for him to continue, "You called me your mate."

My heart stops and I freeze, allowing my oxygen to run dry. I have to be dreaming there's no way this is real. He steps back, arms crossed and the hurt in his sapphire eyes, tell me that this is reality. What in Mahal's name happened out there?!

~A Few Hours Ago~

No matter how many times I protested, the Dwarves insisted on me entering with them. Mirkwood was a dangerous place and they believed I could be useful because of my senses. Thorin didn't want to risk me having to face Orcs on my own and possibly leading them closer to the company. Like I would let that happen.

"If she starts feeling pain and goes unconscious... Run."

That was Gandalf's final warning before he had to leave us on our own. It was strange but he's a Wizard, most of them do as they please. Once he left, I was sure the company would change their mind but they kept pushing it. Thorin even assigned Dwalin to keep an eye on me, in case those things do start happening. I really don't see why they need me though. They're putting their lives on the line but it doesn't look like they really care. Bravery can just be plain stupidity at times.
