_____________
Kayla hated Biology, it was the class that she didn't look forward going to. It wasn't that she didn't like the class – she did – but it was where her and Theo really connected. Spending every day sitting next to each other and talking made their interests in each other spark. Now, the seat next to her was empty and all she had were the memories.
Instead of listening to Mrs.Finch talk, she was doodling yet again. This time, it was of an old, rundown blue jeep. The drawing wasn't the best, but it was pretty clear what it was.
Lydia turns around and her eyes widen when she sees her friend's drawing. "Are you doodling what's outside?"
Kayla looks up from her paper and then outside; a blue jeep was sitting out there as a tow truck guy looked at it. She shook her head, "No...it just – it came to me."
That was all Lydia needed to hear so she grabbed Kayla's hand and yanked her from the desk. All the blonde could manage to grab was her bag before being dragged out of the classroom. They ran outside to stop the man from towing away the jeep.
"Hey!" Lydia was barely managing running in heels and Kayla had no idea why she would even wear them to school. Converse were the way to go. "Hey! You can't tow that jeep away."
"Paperwork says I can. It's reported abandoned," The man points at his board and shows them for further proof.
Kayla jumps up and props herself on the hood. "Now it's not."
He crosses his arms and quirks an eyebrow at her, "You saying it's yours?"
Kayla shrugs her shoulders, "Does it matter?"
The guy couldn't deal with these teens anymore as he shook his head. "Then I'm guessing it's not yours."
"It's mine," Two hands slammed on the hood which caused Kayla to slide off of it. "Thank you. I'll move it, once I get the keys. Out of my locker. After you leave."
"Sorry," he sighs. "Once it's on the hook–"
"Please don't say, 'you're on the hook'," Lydia cringed.
"Well, can't now," he starts to walk towards his truck, but Scott stops him.
"Oh, I, okay. Look, there's gotta be something that we can do," Scott tries reasoning with him. "Sign something? Call someone?"
"Pay someone?" Kayla was already getting out her wallet, having a lot of money in there from her parents gifts they would send her.
"Drop fee's hundred and fifty. Cash," The guy tells them.
Kayla pop opens her wallet and pulls out one hundred dollars. Lydia and Scott both pull out their money and split the remaining fifty into twenty five each. The blonde grabs the money from them and hands it to the worker.
"Are you sure?" Lydia asks her. "That was most of your money–"
"Not even half," Kayla interrupts her. "Parents are a sucker for me."
"Hey," Scott intervenes between them. "You know I don't have the keys to this thing, right?"
Lydia nods, but looks at the bright side. "Now we have a jeep."
