_______________

Ever since the Anuk-ite came into Beacon Hills, I've always been wondering what my worst fear is. I had many things that I was wasn't very fond of, but none were on my mind on a daily basis. Maybe it was losing my friends? Becoming lonely? Theo going evil again?

I drove into the city today, not wanting to deal with the situation in our town. Scott said they'll be fine on their own and would call me if anything serious happened. I pulled into a parallel parking spot and started to scout stores with sales; I was a college student who spent all their money on books and a dorm.

As I go towards a surf shop with ostentatious bathing suits in the window, my eyes catch a blond walking across the street. Her demeanor and style is oddly similar to mine which catches me off guard. I'm about to go towards the store until the blond woman turns around and stares directly at me.

Her eyes, her facial structure, everything about her looks exactly like me. She smirks slowly, whipping her hair back around and walking away. I stand where I am, dumbfounded that I think I know who that is. When she turns a corner, I break into a run. People stare at me oddly, but I ignore their gazes and follow my look-alike. I'm sweating and out of breath when I come to a halt. It's a long stretch of sidewalk and she's nowhere to be seen.

A hand quickly grips my arm and yanks me into an alleyway. I try screaming, but it's muffled by a hand over my mouth. I make eye contact with the person who took me and I am met face-to-face with my doppelgänger.

Elizabeth Williams was over a thousand years old yet still looked eighteen. She had eternal life and I had heard about her so much. First from Void Stiles and then from Mr.Douglas.

"Well well well," she walks a complete circle around me and analyzes my face. "I have finally met the girl who has the same face as me, but I wear it better obviously."

Cockiness. That was her first impression she wanted me to have on her; to make me fear her. My heartbeats were steady and I tried to think of a question to ask since I had a lot. "Why are you still in Beacon Hills when you could be anywhere else in the world?"

"I found someone," Elizabeth sighs as she reminisces the guy. "His body is just...wow. What's his name again? Oh yeah, Isaac Lahey. He's such a good kisser."

That's when I realize why she stayed here, so she could play a game with me. "When did you–"

"Last night," she interrupts me. "Right as Theo was proposing to you; love the engagement ring by the way. Does Isaac know yet?"

"Obviously not since you were kissing him!" I yell with anger laced strongly in my voice. Isaac was led on by this mastermind when he thought it was me. "You are such a bitch."

Elizabeth shrugged and started walking away, leaving me to deal with a screwed up situation. "Being a bitch is my specialty. Listen, I have a train to catch in about ten minutes. It was really nice to catch up Kayla; let's do it again sometime."

Before I could stop her from leaving, she was gone in a blur. Some stray papers from the ground flew around my feet. A normal day in town turned into a run in with my doppelgänger. I came out from the alleyway and was met with the beginning of autumn in Beacon Hills. I hadn't really taken in the beauty of this city since all the supernatural craziness took over my life.

The leaves were slowly turning a golden yellow and the park was filled with dogs and their owners. I would've enjoyed the beautiful scenery around me, but I had to get back to the suburbs and find Isaac. It was going to be tough explaining everything to him, but he needed to know the truth.

I drive back to my apartment and walk up to my floor, already seeing Isaac knocking. I clear my throat and he quickly turns around. "Oh god – uh, hey."

"Hey," I awkwardly stand a couple feet away from him and don't unlock the door just in case I needed an escape route.

Isaac stuff his hands in his pocket, something he usually did when he was nervous as hell. "I wanted to ask about this morning–"

"It wasn't me!" I cut him off to save him the heartbreak. "It was Elizabeth, my doppelgänger. She stopped me when I was in town and told me how she wanted to play a game with me and how she kissed you. I'm so sorry Isaac, but you had to know the truth."

"I know it wasn't you..." Isaac doesn't look at me and I wonder what he's going to say next. "Because it just didn't feel right kissing you – I mean Elizabeth. You are one-of-a-kind and no one can be a copycat version of you."

"Plus," he picked up my left hand and pointed at my ring finger. "You're engaged."

I didn't retract my hand from his and instead let him admire the beautiful diamond ring Theo had gotten me. I didn't expect to hide this secret from him forever, but in some ways I did.

"There was never a chance for us, was there?" he sighs, knowing that he probably came here for nothing.

I shake my head and remember the dark nights alone in London when Isaac had recently just left me and Allison had been killed. "You have no idea how long I wanted to wait for you. However, when I came back...Theo was just there. I didn't expect to fall for him because everyone hated him; I just see the good in people."

Isaac nodded and understood my reasoning. I walked a step forward and wrapped my arms around his torso due to him being slightly taller than me still. He hugged me back and whispered, "I'm leaving tonight."

"No," I stated immediately. "Don't go back just because of my decision. You belong here; your family is here."

Isaac didn't say anything, instead he took the key from my hands and unlocked the apartment door for me. He lightly pushed me inside and smiled. "Goodnight Kayla."

this chapter is going to take place for 6x18 and 6x19 because they were honestly low-key boring episodes and couldn't find Kayla anywhere in them. so that means....one more chapter left of this whole series. I'm going to be so sad when this is over but of course I'll upload an epilogue so we can see what everyone's life it like in 10 years (teen wolf should've done that smh)

but we also finally got an introduction to Elizabeth. I planned to have her come earlier, but didn't really see it fit. I wanted them to have a quick run in and Elizabeth would be on her way since she didn't want to stay in the same place for too long. if you have any questions about her then ask me since I didn't explain a lot of her past in this
