Beacon Hills was slowly changing and I could describe it in one word: fear. I thought hunters were our biggest problem right now, but something was let out of the Wild Hunt that brought chaos into this town. I started feeling my chest tighten up as I kept hearing sounds coming from all around me.

Isaac placed his hand on my shoulder, snapping me out of my daze. "You good?"

I took a deep breath and looked back at him. His eyes were gazing into mine, checking to see what I was feeling. "Definitely better. We have to keep moving though if we want to meet up with Liam and Theo on time."

We follow the directions that were given to us, arriving at the back entrance of the abandoned zoo in ten minutes. I lead the way and try and listen for two heartbeats; they are hiding out in the front so they can spy on the hunters.

"It's us," I tell the boys once they turn around a little frazzled.

Theo stands up suddenly and I notice he has a broken nose. I'm about to ask what happened, but he goes past me and punches Isaac right in the face. "How did that feel Isaac?"

He yells his sentence and I shush him, knowing that there are hunters waiting for us down there. Liam comes up to me and tugs at my arm, "We have to make it seem like everyone's here while the others are back at the armory. Punching wasn't really necessary, but – um, just go with it."

I nod my head and decide to have my own little fun with this. I grab Theo's arm, turn him around, and punch him in the jaw. "Don't talk to Scott like that! Malia, back me up on this."

Theo holds his face and looks up at me, knowing that that punch meant something a little more than just playing along. Isaac comes over to me with a bloody nose. "I think they believe it, so no more punching, got it?"

We all split up, checking the surroundings of the zoo to see how many hunters were here now. Reluctantly, I went with Theo since he didn't want me with Isaac alone. He didn't say it, but it was obvious in the way he dragged me aside to follow him.

"You know," Theo starts out with as we descend a flight of stone stairs. "I think you liked punching me."

I crouch and look down at the hunters and the weird kid Nolan. There still wasn't any backup yet; maybe they were on their way? "You deserved it."

"I said I was sorry-"

"Well sorry isn't enough!" I automatically regret screaming that loud, but when I look down no one had heard me. I turn back to Theo, ready to get out everything I've been holding up inside of me. "You left me for the most stupidest reason ever. We were finally happy and about to start college, but no you washed that all down the drain."

"I almost hurt you, do you know how painful it was for me not being able to control myself on the full moon?" Theo was finally opening up about that night and not putting up the brave face. "I needed to leave before I hurt the one person I love."

I caught how he said 'love' and not 'loved'. I wanted to talk more about this because it was good we were having an actual conversation, but things needed to be done first. I stand up and walk away, Theo following shortly behind. We meet up with Isaac and Liam.
