Alexander x Reader

Alex and I were traveling down south of Maine for the summer, it was pretty good. Well until it started down pouring.

Alex was driving and I was pretty terrified. Not of his driving but the driving conditions. It was difficult to see out surroundings and the wind was harsh.

You see here, we were driving on the Interstate making this much worse, we were trying to get back to our hotel but the downside was that it was 2 hours away.

Alex noticed my shaking and rested a hand on top of mine, just for a brief moment. He pulled his hand away to put back on the stirring wheel.

This state was my home, and having a rainy summer isn't very often. Many thoughts were going through my head until Alex broke the rainy silence.

"Y/N.. I know you're scared but we'll be at the hotel soon.." I knew Alex was more scared than anyone else in he area. Thunder and lightning had thrashed around every few moments.

When Alex was younger he was encountered with a hurricane that wiped out his town. He made it through, I never brought the topic up because I don't want to bring back anything bad.

This weather was not helping with that. Yes this may sound childish, but this is bad weather for anyone to travel in. People driving in front of us caused the ability to see made it more difficult.

"Alex are you okay there?" I ask, trying to be comforting.

"Y-Yeah.." His voice trailed off, I placed a hand on his shoulder and rubbed circles on it. Alex was very tensed up at the moment.

The whole reason we were out was because we wanted to look around and just enjoy the day together.

~Flashback~

Alex and I were walking out of a store until I saw the sky, it was pretty dark. A plane had just left the airport because we saw it lifting away in the air.

"Alex I think we should head back to the hotel.." I say pulling on his shirt sleeve.

"If you really want to Love, let's get back to the car." Alex smiles at me, making me feel better, he takes my bags and walks by my side to the car.

It only started off as a light sprinkle, what came next terrified us and probably many others.

~End of Flashback~

"Alex.. I'm so sorry I had us go out. I didn't think this was going to happen. I just.. I just should've been more careful and payed attention to the weather conditions." A few years escaped from my eyes and fell down my cheeks.

"Love, it's okay. I don't mind as long as you're here with me. I can't imagine what you're thinking now." Me? I don't know what he's thinking, he's gone through much worse.

"Alex you've been through much worse. I know I couldn't help you then, but I'm here now. Don't forget that. Now I'm going to let you focus driving so we can get back safely." Alex nods and we sit there in the silence of the rain and the car moving.

It was around 30-45 minutes after and the rain had calmed down. It was back to a light sprinkle and the blue sky was beginning to show again. A bright smile plastered on my face and I turn to Alex who seemed at ease now.

"How are you feeling Alex?"

"I'm fine now Love, and thank you for reassuring me earlier. I shouldn't have been acting like that."

"Alex! It's okay, really it is. If it was me driving I'd probably be terrified of driving. But look around, we're fine and that's what is important. Right?" Alex hums in response.

"By the way.. while I was gone in the 'bathroom' I kinda punched the guy who was checking you out earlier." Alex says bluntly.

"Alex!" I lightly slap his arm and he bursts out into laughter.

"Hey don't 'Alex' me! He was obviously checking your body out and I taught him some advice not to stare at my woman! Besides, we both know that your body is mine every night." Alex smirks at me and I slap his arm and hide my blushing face.

"Alex! Did you really have to say that?!" I scold him, his smirk grows wider and I just sigh.

"Yup! You know it's true Y/N~" Alex flirtatiously winks at me and I hide my ever growing blush.

"You're such a dork."

"But I'm your dork."

"I can't deny that, but you've forgotten about our deal." I say, drawing his attention.

"What deal-"

"The one where you would take a whole day away from work. No writing. And you just relax for once." Alex thinks and apparently an idea comes to his mind. He turns and smirks at me.

"What?"

"Oh? Nothing~" He goes back to looking at the road in front of him.

"Alex tell me.." I beg in a whiny tone.

"You can't get it out of me that easily Love."

"Well what if I do something for you?" This makes Alex's face brighten.

"Well there is something.."

Let's just say.. when we both got home. It was going to be a long night ;)

~In the Morning~~~

I wake up, I look up to find Alex's sleeping face.

I slowly get up, stretching as I do so. I get my phone and check the time 7:14AM. I swing my legs over the bed and try to stand but my legs give out and I collapse onto the floor.

I hear Alex groan and turn to see me on the floor. "Love what are you- Hm so I guess I was right. You weren't going to be able to walk in the morning.."

"Alex just please help me up." I say watching him get up from the bed and lift me up bridal style. He takes me over to the bathroom, where I wanted to go before I fell.

"So did you enjoy yourself last night Love?"

"Haha, I'd probably be able to walk if I didn't." Alex chuckles and starts a bath for me.

After that we both got cleaned up and just relaxed all day. Enjoying each other's embrace.

"If we end up having a child it better be named Alex Jr, or Philip!"
