John Laurens x Reader

I was sitting down with Eliza, we were talking in the cafe. I stare longingly at a certain man- "Y/N!" I look back to Eliza who had a smirk on her face.

"I see you were staring at him again. Doll, if you like him that much then why haven't you asked him out by now?" I look away and think from Eliza's comment.

"I don't know! You tell me, I guess I don't know what to say in front of freckle face over there and then I freak. Besides it's obvious he has a crush on your sister Peggy," I reply.

"Is that what all this fuss is about? Y/N please, literally everyone. And I mean everyone knows he likes you. It's more obvious than the fact Alex needs to take a break."

I laugh then take a sip of my drink. This cafe was a popular spot in the city, nice location, beautiful on the inside and soft music being played in the background.

Eliza shakes her head and I look at her, confused. "Don't doubt yourself. Just walk up to him say hi and go from there!"

"Are you-?"

"Yes I'm sure! Now go! Eagle #1 will back you up if needed." I laugh and get up from my seat and approach John.

I tap his shoulder and he turns around and sees me. "Oh, hey (Y/N)!"

"Hey, John. Fancy seeing you here, eh?"

"I come here pretty often. I should be home watching a Christmas movie but someone, (cough cough, Alex) hasn't ate food since yesterday so I'm here getting stuff for that guy."

"Ha, sounds like typical Alex. He really needs to learn how to take a break."

John nods in agreement. "So, how come you are here?" He takes the bag given to him from the cashier. Inside was a few cinnamon rolls.

"I'm here with Eliza..." I turn around to point at Eliza but she was no longer at the table we were sitting at before. "I was here with Eliza, she disappeared somewhere."

"Well if you are by yourself now, do you want to walk with me to Alex's house? I would sure love the company."

I hesitated. "What if Eliza comes back?"

"Just text her, I'm sure she'll understand. Besides I'll be with you, nothing could go wrong!"

Sure.

"Alright, let's go then!"

John holds his arm out for me, wanting me to take it. A small blush dusts over my cheeks and I take his arm.

We walk out of the cafe together, talking, laughing and smiling.

It had just turned dark out and we arrived at John's house.

"Thank you so much for accompanying me today."

"Oh it's not a problem, besides I really wanted to spend some time with you." I smile.

"Hey, um.. (Y/N) can I tell you something? Please don't think I'm weird for saying it."

"John, I would never think you are weird!"

"I love you, (Y/N). I have for quite a long time now."

A huge smile spread across my lips and I bring him into a warm hug.

"I love you too, John."

"Oh thank turtle God, I'm so happy to hear you say that."
