Chapter 32

Lauren's POV

My head is placed on her chest, listening to the familiar beat of her heart while I can feel her fingers running through my hair. I look up to her and I can see her Y/EC staring back at mine. I just finished breaking down in front of her and I don't know if this shit is a dream or not. I place the palm of my hand on her face and smoothly caress the pad of my thumb on her cheek. "This is not a dream, right? I mean, you're real... like you're here with me right?" I can see her leaning in more to my touch and she hums.

"What?" Y/N arches her eyebrows at me. "Of course I'm real," She chuckles lowly making me heard it vibrates on her chest.

"I asked you, if this is a dream or not. If this shit is, please don't wake me up." I muttered out while I run my thumb on her nose while she closes her eyes briefly.

"No, this is not a dream, Lauren." She husked out as she takes my hand that's resting on her face and she lace her fingers with mine. "And if this is a dream, then I don't want to wake up too." Y/N flutter her eyes open, then bring the back of my hand close to her lips and kiss it.

I can feel my face heating up, so I lower my head and burry my face on the crook of her neck. "God, you don't have any idea how long I've been waiting for you to hold me like this again," I sighed in contentment and I can feel her lips on my forehead. She hums and I can feel myself drifting off to sleep.

"Lauren, don't sleep, I still have to take you back to your dad's house." Y/N mutters. When I feel her fingers stopped on playing with my hair, I purred and nuzzle my face further to her neck. "Lauren, stand up."

"No," I place my arm on her stomach and hug her tightly.

"I'm going to walk you home. You can't sleep on me," I heard her sigh when I didn't answer her.

"Can we stay like this for five more minutes?" I whined.

"Okay, I'll give you five minutes." She press a kiss on my forehead again while she rubs her palm on my arm.

We stayed like this for awhile. I sighed when I thought that this is what I really want in life. I don't mind leaving the guy who was there for me when she was not around. I don't mind leaving everything for her because I'm willing to leave everything in a heartbeat just to her with me. My heart wants her, only her and just like what I said to Luke, I know who my belongs to, and it belongs to Y/N.

"Laurennnn, five minutes is up." She pokes my cheeks repeatedly and I groaned when I know that she's not going to stop on doing it.

I pull away from our cuddling and I jutted my lower lips out. And lower my head down, "Aw, don't be like that." She rest her index finger on my chin and lift my head up. My eyes flicker to the woman sitting next to me and Y/N smiles at me sweetly and I swear, my heart is melting every second that I spend with her. I bit my lower lip, trying to contain myself from smiling so hard. "Let's go?" She stand up from her chair and I nodded my head in defeat.

We made our way out of the observatory and we're walking next to each other. As I was about to take a hold of her hand, I saw her placing her hand inside the pocket of her jeans. I sighed in disappointment and we continue to walk in comfortable silence.

We both stop when we saw my dad's house. "So... we're here," Y/N said and shift her body to face me. "Go in, it's getting dark. Drink a lot of water before you go to sleep. You might get dehydrated tomorrow, since I know you drank a lot of alcohol." The doctor rest her hand on top of my head as she ruffles my hair.
