As the rain finally stopped. I dragged Lauren back inside the headquarters and told her that we should dry ourselves off.

I take her inside the locker area and I take out two towels from my locker. "Here," I handed it to her and she drape it on her shoulder then mumbled out a quiet thank you. "You should take a shower and change your clothes before you get sick."

"But I don't have any dry clothes," She muttered out.

"I have a lot of extra clothes in my locker. I will lend you some of my clothes," I told her and gave her a tight lip smile. "Now, go and take a shower. I'll take one on the other shower room."

Lauren gave me a slight nod, as I grab some of my clothes inside my locker and place the ones that the Latina will wear on the bench. Then left her to do her own thing.

-

I close the door behind me and went straight to the rest room. I can already see Lauren wearing my shirt and a pair of boxers shorts. She's sitting on the couch, staring off the space.

"Hey," She snap her head to me and gave me a sad smile. I feel like something happened to her. She looks so... down.

"Hey," I take a seat on the couch next to her.

Then the two of us fell into a complete silence. I glance my head at Lauren and saw that she's zoning out. Something is bothering her.

"Laur," The green-eyed woman slowly turn her head to me. "Are you- are you okay?" I asked her as I tilted my head at her.

She shake her head at me and sighed deeply before saying, "It hurt," I raised my eyebrow at her and she continues, "It hurt a lot to see that person smiling, pretending that they are- that he is okay. And it also hurt so much that I can't even bring myself to interrupt him and I couldn't even say anything because it will just ruin his happiness." Lauren duck her head and fiddle with her fingers that's resting on her lap. "I didn't know at all why he keeps on smiling like that when I know deep inside, he's hurting. And just- your story, our story not being able to tell him tormented me. And that person- he was probably waiting since five years ago." She purses her lips then added, "Reserving at some fancy restaurants to set up our dates and preparing gifts. He said that planning our dates are more important than planning his own birthday party and more important than deciding what to buy for himself during Christmas. That's what he said," The Cuban chuckled lowly.

"Oh, I see..."

"But Y/N, I completely forgot... with what type of feeling that person must have had during dinner awhile ago, I couldn't even fathom. I remembered being too late, I was too late about feeling sorry." She glance up at me and asked, "You know what's more unbelievable? That it's a relief that I can see you who are waiting for me. The thought it was a relief."

The Latina shift her gaze from me and her emerald eyes found her fingers again, that's on her lap and she started fidgeting. "Y/N... I am a far worse person than what you think and what you can imagine."

I slowly inch my hand closer to hers and grab it. I intertwine my fingers to hers and gave it a light squeeze. "Before I came back to you, I asked myself countless times..." I started off and look at the frame behind her. "Y/N Y/LN, what do you have that makes you a better person for Lauren than Dr. Luke Hemmings? And if you think about it, I don't have and I can't give you a good households. I don't have any parents left, money and reputation-- there was nothing that I was better than Dr. Hemmings." I run my tongue to my lips and sighed. I can see Lauren shaking her head lightly and I can even hear her muttering, no.

"Even after coming back to you, I thought about it a countless times. When you're having a hard time because of me," I look at her and I can see the tears are forming in her eyes. "And when you're crying like this everyday. I keep asking myself; Y/N, what can you do about it? And there was nothing." The tears started to fall off of her eyes. "Really, I don't have something awesome like a huge mansion or amazing cars. I don't anything to show you off nor something I can do for you. I'm just a pathetic woman." Lauren shakes her head. "I'm the one that is far worse person than your thoughts and your imagination, Lauren. But I'm still going to be greedy for you and not let you go, so I'm a lot worse, right?"
