Chapter 50

"You're back," Brad said as he greeted me with a smile and saluted to me. "Chief Y/N Y/LN!"

I pat his back and went inside the resting area. It has only been an hour or so, since my meetings with the doctors. To be honest, I didn't expect to do a presentation in front of the great doctors in Miami will be that fun. And after a long period of time, Dr. Liam Payne finally saw me again. He talked to me after the meeting. I almost forgot that he was the one who recruited me here in Miami. He was the main reason why I got the chance to come back here in Florida. But he told me that he kinda disappointed in me since it took him so much and effort just to have me work in the Emergency Room of Miami's Hospital. But I apologized to him and now, everything's cool between the two of us.

It's also a bit awkward to see Luke sitting alongside with the doctors and him watching me doing the presentation. I know he's still mad about Lauren calling their engagement party and their wedding off because of me. But it's not my fault that Lauren still loves me. He keeps on looking at me with a death stare and sending me daggers while I was in front of them, talking and explaining medical stuff.

As I step inside the resting room. I can see that it's only Harry and Brad who's inside and Brad looks like he is making coffee. Maybe the rest of the team are enroute or maybe they all went home.

"Dr. Y/LN," The green-eyed man smiles at me. "How was your presentation? Did it went well?" I take a seat on the couch across of Harry as he asked me the question.

I slumped down on the couch in front of Harry. "Yes, it did end well and surprisingly, it was fun." I told him and look at him. "How's my sister doing? I know she's a little bit reckless, so I was worried whether she might be causing trouble or not. But she is taking good care of Xavier, right?"

"Yes, she is taking good care of him but there's something I have to tell you since this topic came up..." Harry was interrupted when Brad immediately rushed to our side and handed us a cup of coffee.

"Take this," Harry eyed him weirdly. "And this one is for you, Chief Y/LN." I muttered out a quiet thank you then place my hot coffee on the table.

"As I was saying before I got interrupted... your sister Hailee she's–"

"She's doing well. Don't worry about her." Brad butted in. "And ever since Hailee came, our little Xavier has been smiling a lot."

"Who? Xavier or you?" Harry squinted his eyes on him. Brad seems to ignore the green-eyed man's question as he continues to talk.

"She's like a mother that perfectly matches the kid's mindset like an angel. She's going to be a great mom one day." The rookie grins at me and added, "Did you know that Xavier runs home after school because he is so excited to be with Hailee. He is excited to spend time with Hailee."

"Again, who? Xavier or you?" Harry asked the man sitting next to him and Brad is acting like he is deaf, because he doesn't even acknowledge the question that the green-eyed man is asking him.

Brad take a quick look at Harry and pat his knee. "I'll just keep talking to Chief Y/LN a bit." He is really strange. "And Hailee is teaching Xavier really well." He laughed softly before blurting out, "Oh, our Hailee–" Brad quickly take a sip on his coffee.

I kinked my eyebrows up at him. And I can see Harry shaking his head at the rookie. "Well," I cleared my throat then shift my gaze from the rookie to Harry. "It's a relief, kinda. Knowing that Hailee is doing well." I said genuinely. "Team Leader, Styles, I know sometimes my sister is lacking, please take good care of her."
