[A/N: what's up?]
I tapped my foot impatiently at the cemented ground of the parking lot at the headquarters. I'm waiting for my fiancée to change her working clothes to a casual ones since our shift just ended thirty minutes ago.
She told me that she will just take a quick shower then she'll head out. I'm actually thinking that she drowned herself inside the shower room because damn, I've been waiting for her ass to get here at the parking lot for almost twenty minutes now.
I smile to myself when I realize that Lauren Jauregui is my fiancée. It's been three weeks since I got the chance to kneel on my knee and popped her the question. And it's been three weeks since she said yes when I asked her to marry me.
To be honest, I don't think I'll ever get used to call her my fiancée, my soon-to-be wife and she will also be going to be the mother of my child. Lauren will be such a great mom to our kids, I know she will.
And seeing her, after what happened this afternoon with Xavier Styles, Harry's son together with his classmates and teacher, they had a quick tour trip to see what a rescue workers do. I cannot wait to marry her.
Harry told us that he and his son had some misunderstanding because of what happened last week. Hailee told me that the green-eyed man promised his kid to attend the Dad's day at Xavier's school but he got an emergency call because a house was burning down ten blocks away from our working place, then he ended up breaking his promise to his own son.
So in return, Xavier asked Hailee if he can visit his daddy to his work with his classmates and his teacher. And my sister asked me about it and I told Ty about the idea of the little kids visiting us while we are showing us how we work, he agreed and didn't oppose that idea. But it was a surprise for Haz.
We showed them our work and we definitely had a great time with the kids. Especially Lauren. I can feel my heart melting when everytime I saw her interacting with a kid or even playing with them. I can picture ourselves raising our kids together and playing with them. I can even visualize on how Lauren would take good care of them and as soon as I saw how caring she is with the little kids, I know I chose the right woman to marry, because I know I've always wanted to have someone who knows how to take care of her family and be there for them. And that's how I know Lauren will be.
I look up at the glass door of the headquarters and didn't see Lauren's figure, even her shadow. I sighed as I run my hand through my locks. "What took her so long?" I mumbled to myself.
After a few more minutes of waiting for her, there's still no sign of the Latina. I lean my back on my car and keep waiting for her. I felt my phone buzz and I take it out. I saw an unknown number calling me.
Out of curiousity who is it. I press the answer button and place my phone on my ear. "Hello?" I glance at the exit area of the headquarters and I still can't see my Lauren walking out.
"Hello, Dr. Y/N Y/LN." The other line muttered. I can hear a smirk in his voice while mentioning my name. "This is Dr. Y/N Y/LN's number, right?"
"Uh- yeah, may I know who is this?" I scratch the back of my neck and rub it.
"Oh, I'm Dr. Derrick Hamilton, do you remember me? We greeted each other at the hospital some weeks ago. And I even saw you with Dr. Jauregui." I crooked my eyebrows up and nodded my head at him even though he cannot see me. "You even thanked me about your mom's surgery that we did to her more than a decade ago." Of course I remember him. How could I forget?
"Ah. Yeah, not sounding to be rude but may I know why did you call me?"
"Can I see you right now? There's something really important that I have to tell you. This is urgent so you have to meet me in ten minutes."
