January 11th
I woke up this morning to one baby laughing, another baby crying and another baby simply laying down quietly with her eyes wide open.
I quickly did my usual routine of taking care of the girls and the house.
Then, I went to pick up Brianna from school today so I could drive her to the hospital to see Oliver. Mom had to come over to take care of the girls again because Brandon was at work so he couldn't do it while I wasn't at home.
                              She was right.
It was overwhelming to see him plugged up to tubes and to hear the constant beep of that heart monitor.
He was really pale. Not like he usually is.
"Hey Oliver it's me Brianna, your girlfriend. I hope that you can hear me. I really want you to wake up because I'm really worried. Please come back soon.
The doctor said that you should wake up next week. I can't wait to be able to hear your voice again. I really, really miss you.
School started a couple days ago and people have sent you "Get Well Soon" cards. I really hope that you do get well soon and that you get out of this hospital.
I love you very much", Brianna said to Oliver while kneeling down beside his bed.
"Hey Oliver", I said as I knelt down too, "It's me, Nikki, Brianna's older sister. Brianna really misses you. We hope that you can hear us, the doctor said that by now you probably can.
So we are going to read the cards that your friends and family sent you."
We read the cards to Oliver and then we had to say goodbye to him because we had to go grocery  shopping which took longer then expected because of the amount of people in the shop.
"Come on! I have tons of homework to do!" Brianna complained as we got into the really long line of people who probably also couldn't wait to get out of the stuffed shop.
When we finally got out of the shop and we got stuck in a traffic jam. Great, right? Not if you have a sister that's moaning about homework and you know that when you get home your mom will give out to you for taking so much time and when you bought ice-cream and it's currently melting in the backseat of your car and probably causing a great mess that you're going to need to clean again. Don't we all just love a good old traffic jam? (Please do note the sarcasm).
Then, after like an hour of being stuck in a traffic jam we finally got home.
As expected mom staryed giving out to me for taking so long.
"I'm sorry mom, the line at the shop was really long and then we got stuck in a trafgic jam," I explained.
"It's ok, I was just getting worried", mom smiled, "On the bright side, I managed to get the girls to sleep."
And, as if on cue, I heard the girls crying, oh, the joys of motherhood!
Nah, it may be hard, there may be diapers to change everyday, crying babies, a mess in the house but as I said before, it's worth it.
Looking on the bright side, I have beautiful children who are all healthy, who laugh and smile a lot and make me laugh and smile a lot.
Now I can say, and not sarcastically this time...oh, the joys of motherhood!
