January 8th
Brianna walked in to our house today and collapsed on the couch without saying a word.
"Is it Oliver? Is he ok?" I asked.
"He had to have surgery when he got to the hospital . That's why I only got to see him today. They didn't tell me why he had to have surgery. But they told me that he's been sleeping ever since the surgery. They said that he should wake up next week, it's kind of like a coma I guess." she said looking up at me.
"Look on the bright side, at least he's alive." I comforted her.
"I know Nikki! But it's just so overwhelming to see him plugged up to these tubes and hearing the beep of that heart monitor."
"Listen, I know that it's hard, but we can bake cookies and have some hot chocolate and watch a movie while the girls are sleeping. We can have a little sister time to cheer you up. Ok?"
                              "Ok."
We quickly fed the girls, changed their diapers and Brianna sang them to sleep. It was so cute, she'll definitely make a wonderful mother one day.
Then we started  (more like tried and failed) baking cookies.
It was really funny because we ended up burning them. It felt just like the good old times. So in the end we ended up eating some cupcakes that I baked the day before.
We also made popcorn and hot chocolate.
Then it was time to pick the movie. We decided to watch the "Annie" (the newer version).
It was really fun and I could see that Brianna was definitely happier, and seeing her happy made me happy (Ok, that's very cliché to say, I know).
She was back to being the happy Brianna that she usually is.
Looks like sister time did cheer her up.
