Dork Diaries - A New Beginning Part 2

The Proposal

January 23rd
Saturday

It's the day of the proposal.

I'm nervously going through the song over and over again in my head.

I know how important this is for Daniel.

There is this little stage in the park and Daniel got the person that's in charge if the park to let us use it for tonight.

We didn't have anyone to do the lights so we asked Brianna to do it and since we are going to be there half an hour before Daniel and MacKenzie she'll have time to practice doing it.
I just hope that it'll alll work out.

I got a call from Daniel today and he seemed really stressed out.
He called just to make sure that Brianna agreed to do the lights.

We have to be at the park in an hour I think as I feed Faith.

I hear Brandon opening the door.

"Hey honey, how was work?"

"It was good. How was your day?"

"I've been stressing out about the proposal, but other than that, it was fine."

"Don't worry, it'll be okay."

"I hope that you're right."

Suddenly Teddy comes running into the living room to meet Brandon.

"Hey Teddy!" Brandon smiles.

He's only been with us for about a day but he's already a part of the family.

We did put out an ad on the internet asking did anyone maybe loose him just in case but we got no replies yet.

I don't think that anyone list him though, I think yhat he was abandoned.

"Nikki, I think that it's time to get ready." Brandon said.

"Right." I sat and dash upstairs.

Brandon will take care of the girls while I get ready and then well swap.

I put on a black t-shirt with "Actually, I'm Not Really Sure Yet" written on it and a light blue skirt.

All of us girls were going to wear the same ecact outfit and all of the guys were going to wear the same t-shirt and some dark blue jeans.

After putting on some make-up and my shoes I went downstairs.

"Your turn." I nod to Brandon.

He goes upstairs and I take the girls to the car.

Brandon comes outside just as I finish buckling Flora up.

"Let's go", I smile.

We drive to mom's to drop the girls off and to get Brianna.

She's wearing the same exact outfit too.

We arrive at the park at 6:20 and it's already quite dark outside.

Brianna practices doing the lights and she catches on quickly.

6:59, the should be here any minute.

We see Daniel and MacKenzie coming our way.

"Ready?" I whisper.

Daniel and MacKenzie sit down on a bench in front of the stage.

MacKenzie can't see us yet because it's dark and the stage lights are off.

I stomp my clap my hands to signal Brianna to turn on the lights.

Slowly, the lights turn on and I can see that MacKenzie is clearly confused.

"1, 2, 3!"  Brandon exclaims.

"That September night..." I start singing.

As we finish the song Daniel grabs MacKenzie's hands and kneels down.

"MacKenzie, I have known you for five years, you never fail to make me smile.
I remember that September night when we first met and I instantly felt that you were the  one. I love you so much and I would love to spend the rest of my life with you so, MacKenzie Hollister, will you marry me?" Daniel opens a box with a ring inside.

Tears are streaming down MacKenzie's face.

"Yes, yes I will", she says through her tears and kisses Daniel.

She suddenly let go and asked, "Did you write that song for me?"

"Yeah... I hope that you liked it", Daniel replied.

"Of course I did", she smiled.

Hearing her sqy that makes me smile from the stage, they're so cute together, I'm so happy for them.

I'm so glad that's it's all over though because that means...

NO MORE EXHAUSTING PRACTICE!!!

Okay, I know that Daniel had to make us practice really hard so that we got it right.

But all that practice was tiring,  but it was worth it.

We didn't mess up the song...  thankfully.  :)
