My Whirlwind High School Romance

Meeting

I sat on the roof top at lunch. It was nice and quiet and no one else seemed to want to come up here. This was the same place Yugi Moto and his friends used to eat at lunch. I sat on the ledge near the gate and as I was about to take a bite of my sandwich I heard the door click open. I looked up and saw Emiko from my home room. She had her light brown back over her shoulder and was clearly looking where to sit. She soon spotted me and walked over to me. "Jesse isn't it?" She asked with a friendly smile. In the sun I noticed the light blonde streaks in her hair. I nodded. "May I join you? Jaden got in trouble so I'm all alone at the moment."

"Sure I could do with some company," i smiled back as she sat next to me.

"But you already have company," she asked confused pointing to my shoulder. Unknown to me Ruby had appeared. Wait a minute....

"You see her?" I asked nearly dropping my food.

"Yeah since I was little I could see spirits," Emiko smiled as Ruby jumped into her lap. "You are beautiful aren't you?" Ruby seemed to love Emiko at first site. Well this was the first time a human other than me could see her. "Jaden will be happy too. Kuriboh will have a new friend."

"Jaden sees spirits too."

"Yeah it's kind of why we are so close."

Just then the door opened again and this time it was Jaden and behind him was what o assume was Kuriboh. Only this version has small white wings. Jaden nearly fell into my lap as he tripped over while walking over to us. He managed to save himself, just barely. Ruby jumped off Emiko's lap and onto the Winged Kuriboh. I started to laugh uncontrollably as I've never seen Ruby like this before. "Hey I'm Jaden," Jaden finally spoke up, standing tall.

"I'm Jesse." I smiled shaking Jaden's hand. "Nice to meet you partner."
