Jesse's POV

I sat next to Jaden's hospital bed holding his hand. The doctor informed there was no serious damage but he would still need a long rest period. I felt tears roll down my face. Why didn't I run to him? Why did I let Zane stop me?

My heart was heavy in guilt. I promised that he would never get hurt and yet that's what I allowed to happen. Ms Hibiki didn't seem to blame me and tried to comfort me when we were in the back of the ambulance but it never made a difference.

I looked at Jaden's sleeping face. He looked so peaceful, having no care in the world. He's been asleep since the incident yesterday so I haven't been able to speak to him properly. "This is all Reggie's fault," I cried. "Her and that David guy! I'll find them and hurt them."

"Jesse," I head a meek voice come from the door. I turned as saw Syrus holding a gift bag, Zane was behind him but I tried to not notice him. "I brought some chocolate for Jay. You know how he likes them."

Syrus placed the gift bag on the window and took a seat next to Jaden . "He hasn't woken up since yesterday," I said bluntly. "Doctor says nothing serious, luckily enough."

"I see," Syrus nodded. "Mind if I stay and keep you company for a bit?"

"Jaden would like that," I smiled through the tears.

"Sy, I have to go to town and get some things for mum," Zane stated. "Call me when you're ready to go."

With that Zane left. I didn't want to see him let alone be in the same room. "My brother is sorry you know?" Syrus explained.

"I don't care," I growled. "He's already apologised and I don't want to hear it again."

"Okay, I understand," Syrus let out a big sigh. "How are you and Jaden doing?"

"We're good," I let out a small smile. "He seems to like being with me."

"He loves you more then he's loved anyone is what he told me," Syrus had a sincere smile on his face which confused me. "He's even starting to play Cupid now."

"What you mean?" I asked.

"Well I kind of have a crush," Syrus blushed. "Jay found out and now all he wants to do is hook us up as he puts it."

"Who do you have a crush on?" I didn't mean to pry but I am fairly curious.

"Well umm..." Syrus face went bright red. "C-Chazz."

What?! I had to scream that in my head as not to disturb anyone else. "Wow," I breathed. "And Jaden found out how..."

"I apparently stare a lot during gym."

"Yeah you do." Me and Syrus looked at Each other before looking down at Jaden. Who had a goofy grin on his face. He then turned to me and stroked my cheek. "Hey babe."

"Hey," I cried grabbing his hand. "You scared me."

"Sorry," he breathed looking as if he was going to cry too.

"Jay I know about the incident 8 years ago," I said bluntly. I needed to tell him. I know it might not be the time and place but everyone needs to be on the same place. "We all do."  Jaden's face dropped as well as his arm. "Ms Hibiki informed us because she thinks it has something to do with that incident." 

"Jess a lot of people got hurt that day because of me," Jaden mumbled. 

"That's not true Jay," Syrus exclaimed. "All the kids there that day had special powers too. So it's not anyone's fault."

Jaden started to sob quietly. "Jay, you don't need to be scared of that day anymore," I whispered leaning over and placing my forehead on his. "I'll take care of you."

"And I'll be there too," Syrus declared. "Were best friends and nothing will stop us."

After about half an hour Syrus left us alone. He said he had to be somewhere any how. "Why did she tell you?" Jaden asked as he sat up, being careful to not rush himself.

"Jay," I sighed grabbing is leg. "It's because she wants you safe. She didn't say everything but I know that after something like that happens things are hard but they are harder dealing with them on your own."

Next the you know Kuriboh decided to pop out and sit on Jaden's lap. "See even Kuriboh knows," I laughed.

"Thank you," Jaden cried. I leant over and embraced him. His head lying in my shoulder as he cried.
