Welcome Home

Jaden's POV

We stepped into the house carefully. Jesse had become over protective of me since the incident at school. He sat me down on the couch as he went to get us some drinks. Again my parents were on a business trip so I was alone. They had been called when I was in hospital just to confirm what happened and that I was fine. We explained that Jesse agreed to look after me and Ms Hibiki would come check in every now and then.

While I was in hospital I went down to Ms Hibiki's brother. Koyo. His status hadn't changed so we couldn't do much. I sat there telling his unconscious body stories of high school and my most recent duels. I told him about Jesse and how Jesse had a duel spirit too.

I wish I could say I saw him smile but that's just wishful thinking. "Babe did your parents leave you anything to eat?" I heard Jesse yell as he closed another cupboard.

"They should have transferred me some money now," I mutter checking my online banking, bingo, enough money to order take out. "What do you want to eat tonight?"

"Good question," Jesse replied sitting next to me. He then wrapped his arm around me and leaned in to my ear nibbling on it. "I could eat you."

I blushed as the kisses travelled down my neck and Jesse nibbled on my skin leaving a red mark. "Jesse you know I'm not ready," I pouted.

"I know babe." He smirked kissing my forehead. We agreed that we would wait until we had been together about a year before we took the next step. We're only young so no point in wasting our youth.

"I've got an idea," I piped up. "Tomorrow lets have everyone around to duel and hang out."

"That doesn't sound a bad idea," he agreed kissing my head again. Being gentle every time he did. "For now lets sort some food out for tonight and then we can organise the day."

Later that night I started to text everyone. We agreed to be at mine for 13:00 so we could all eat lunch together. Emiko offered to come early and cook everyone lunch/ a small buffet. Zane and Syrus offered to come early too to help out with sorting out the furniture and such. Me and Jesse rested of the couch with my legs resting on top of Jesse's as I lay with my head on a soft pillow.

"Hey Jay," I looked up to see Jesse blushing, "I love you."

I smiled widely as I always do, "I love you too."

"Welcome home."

That night Jesse went up to bed before me. I explained I wasn't tired and wanted to stay up a bit longer. I stayed up with Kuriboh lying asleep next to me. His fur was tickling my exposed skin and I stroked his wings.

I sat looking through the photos of me and Jesse on my phone, I wanted to choose one for my screen saver. There was one from the day we all went to the dessert shop. The memories of that day are both good and bad but I wanted to focus on the good. I set the picture where Jesse had cream on his nose.

The smile on my face was sad, I just wished our happiness could have lasted a little bit longer.
