Jesse's POV

All of us sat in the hall, just waiting for something to happen. Fortunately  nothing had tried to break though the doors so we were safe for now. "Nope no signal," Atticus muttered trying his phone.

"Okay genius," Alexis started sarcastically. "This is a shadow realm. I highly doubt they have WiFi."

"Worth trying," Syrus shrugged as he lay down. "We need a way out of here."

"We need to save Jay," I piped up. "If we're here so is he."

"You don't know that mate," Jim added. "For all we know he's-"

"Right here," we all turned to see Jaden standing there, a typical Jaden smile on his face.

I ran up to him and hugged him tightly. I let the tears I was holding back flow. "God Jay," I cried. "I'm so glad you're okay."

I felt him hug me back and he leaned into my ear, "I'm glad your here Jesse."

Suddenly that innocent tone turned dark. My arms dropped and I felt something right around my throat, making it hard to breathe. Jaden step back as he laughed. "Poor little Jess," he laughed. "It's a shame that you're so naive, Well it is for your friends." Jaden snapped his fingers and I could hear the others scream. Jaden reached out a hand as he walked towards Ruby, I thrashed around trying to get free. "The more you struggle, the more it hurts."

I could hear Ruby cry as Jaden picked her up by the scruff of her neck. "Let her go," I heard Emiko scream. "Leave her alone!"

"Shame I can't," Jaden grinned walking to Emiko, holding Ruby tightly at his side. "But you will be joining me!"

Jaden used his other hand to grab hold of Emiko's neck making her scream. "Who are you?" I choked trying to regain some breath.

Jaden smirked and evil glare in his eyes. "I'm your worst nightmare!"

With that everything went black.

I'm not sure how long we were out,m but when I woke up, I found myself shackled to a wall. Frantically, I started tugging at it trying to see if I get lose. I feel like I'm in a goddamn Saw movie!

I looked around, in the only one in my cell, but looking closer, I could see the others in the next cages, both left and right of me and chained to the wall, "Zane?" I screamed. I crawled as close to the bars as I could grabbing hold of the to steady myself. "Zane wake up," I called to him.

I watched slowly as his eyes started to open. "J-Jesse?" He questioned. I watched as he looked at his shackled wrists. "Damnit! That guy wasn't lying."

"What guy?" I asked.

"He called himself the shadow,"
Zane mumbled. "And something about needing Jaden as a host."

A host? What did that mean? And why take Ruby and Emiko too? "I've lost him Zane," I cried gripping the bars tightly. "I love him so much and now he's gone."

"Jesse it's okay," I heard Alexis say from the cage in the right. "Please don't be worried, we'll get them back."

"Don't lose hope Jess," Syrus piped up. "We can get out of here."

But how? How are we meant to move on from this.? But more importantly why did this 'Shadow' need Jaden as a host and why did he need Ruby and Emiko too?
