Strange Happens

The food was amazing! Me and Jaden ended up having a couples sharing sundae, although he did eat most of it.

Alexis and Atticus each had a stack of pancakes. Syrus and Bastion had make your own ice cream sundaes and Emiko and Zane had some waffles. "We should go again," Alexis chimed patting her stomach.

"The waffle was so good," Emiko chimed with her. "We should come here on a girls date." 

"That would be nice," Alexis giggled, "a day from the boys."

It was nice that another girl had finally joined the group. Jaden grabbed onto my arm and placed his head on my shoulder as we continued to walk. "Today was a lot of fun wasn't it?" He asked.

"Yeah," I agreed and turned to everyone else. "How about we call go see a movie?"

"I'm game," Atticus pipped up.

"Me too!" Syrus chirped.

As everyone else went to answer we all felt the ground begin to shake slightly. We heard some people screaming. I quickly took Jaden to the nearest door way and hugged him close to me. Everyone else had the same idea. I watched as they started to run towards the corridor but then the quake hit hard and the floor started to break. 

"Aaah," we heard a loud scream and I looked seeing Emiko had fallen into a large hole that had formed and was holding onto the edge.

"Emiko," Jaden screamed letting go and running towards Emiko. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back. I gritted my teeth, I don't want to be harsh but I had no choice but to push him back to the door frame. Bastion caught him for me as I turned back and ran for Emiko.

I kneeled down grabbing her arm. "Don't let go okay," I said struggling to pull her up.

"Jess behind you," she screamed. I turned and saw a black shadow creeping up behind. It went to attack but fortunately Zane had whacked it out of the way using a piece of broken door. He leaned and grabbed Emiko's other arm and we managed to pull her up. Tears started to fall from her eyes in fear and pain as I noticed her leg dripping with blood.

"Get her on my back now," Zane demanded. We rushed her one as we felt another quake hit.

We quickly ran back to the small corridor Jaden grabbed onto me for dear life. We all crowded down and huddled together and waited for the quake to pass.
Soon, but not soon enough the quake finally passed. Jaden cried into my chest as it passed and we all sighed in relief. "I thought I was going to lose you then," Jaden cried. I stroked his back trying to calm him down.

"Hey you kids alright?" I turned and saw a police officer coming towards us. "Are any of you hurt?"

"Our friend, her leg is bleeding bad," I told the office and he went straight to Emiko as the blood continued to flow down her leg. The officer asked for Emiko to be put onto her back and she escorted us out of the building. All the time Jaden clung onto my arm, almost scared to let go. I was still shaking slightly from the events.

When we got outside we were told to wait on the benches together and we were going to be questioned about everything we saw.

"I thought I was going to lose you," Jaden whispered almost sounding his was going to cry.

"I promised to look after you," I said gripping him tight. "I will always protect you."
