It had been a week since we started high school. I found myself a part of a nice little group with Jaden, Syrus and Emiko. Myself and Emiko had classes together most of the day, due to our high scores on the entrance exam. We were with a few other nice people, Alexis, Bastion, Adrian and Jim. All were friendly and like myself into duel monsters.
We were just finishing up in science where I had been paired with Jim. His Australian accent was stronger then I expected but turned out he loved crocodiles and archeology. "Alright then class that's it for today," the teacher said as the bell rang.
"Hey Jess you going up to the roof at lunch again?" Jim asked as I packed my notes away.
"Yeah want to join in?" I asked throwing my bag over my shoulder.
"If you don't mind mate. Lunch alone if getting pretty old." He laughed nervously.
"Then come with."
We soon reached the roof where Emiko and another friend we made Axel were waiting. They had laid a few blankets down that we had hidden on the roof so people could eat lunch comfortably. "Hey Jess," Emiko smiled. "Whose your friend?"
"I'm Jim ma'am," Jim said making Emiko blush. I couldn't help but laugh as we found out that Emiko liked accents. "Mind if I join you?"
Emiko and Axel shook their heads. Jaden and Syrus turned up moments later, Syrus hanging his head to the floor. "What's up Sy?" I asked as the pair sat down.
"He got a bad grade is all," Jaden explained opening up his lunch box.
"Yeah but then my brother told me off again," Syrus explained trying to hold back tears.
I watched as Jaden continued to eat as his friend was obviously upset. Emiko suddenly stood up with a fierce look on her face. "Zane right?" Was all she said earning a nod from Syrus. "I'll be back in 10."
With that Emiko stomped off without saying a word and leaving her lunch. "I should stop her," Syrus whimpered. "Zane is the big man campus here because of his duelling skills."
"She'll be fine," Jaden tried to say with a full mouth. "When I piss her off she pushes me to the floor and sits on my for half an hour."
That's a punishment? A girl that cute she can do that to me if she wants. "Anyway does anyone fancy a duel at all?" I asked trying to lighten the mood. Axel agreed to duel me and in all fairness he was pretty tough but I was tougher and won by a mer amount. Jaden asked to duel me next once he stuffed his face. Jaden used E-heros which I found pretty cool. Although adding a kuriboh seemed rather random. I laughed as Jaden played Kuriboh in defense, it was a really cute move. Although the mood was ruined when we heard argueing. We walked to the fence and looked down to see Emiko arguing with someone in the front of the school. Sitting on a bench next to them was Alexis and I'm not sure who was next to her. "Maybe you should trying being a big brother not an ass!" Emiko screamed at the taller student. He had dark teal hair and was fairly pale.
"What would you know?" He said back.
"My brother never bad mouthed me for a bad grade he instead tutored me. How about trying that?"
"You don't know anything about my life kid."
"Listen Zane if I'm picking up the pieces this is my business. I'm not doing your job for you!"
The next thing we see is Zane grabbing Emiko by the wrist and dragging her out of view. "She's fine." Jaden said sitting back down. "Come one Jess I wanna duel some more."
I looked at Jaden and couldn't resist. He just looked adorable. I took my seat back and looked at Jaden as he continued his turn. He looked so pure, I was amazed someone like this exists.
