Emiko's POV

I let out a big sigh as everyone else left the class room. Following the big announcement everyone was allowed a free period to make a decision about the up coming tournament. I stayed behind watching as Ms Hibiki sat on the desk in front of me. Usually I am free, out going and not bothered about duelling. However as I stared my teacher down I couldn't help but laugh. "Is this about the tournament?" I asked, being unusually casual with my teacher.

"You and I both know its happening earlier then before," She said sternly taking my hand. "Are you and Jaden in danger? And what about the new students?"

"I can't answer about them," I answered honestly. "But it's not just Jaden and I, its also Jesse and I believe Chazz as well from 1-C."

"Duel Spirits?" I nodded. Yes, duel spirits are an essential part of day to day lives of most students. Ms Hibiki knew this was true of Jaden and Jesse. For me, its because of my family. You see, I haven't duelled for a reason, my skills would give me away to the people I want to keep my identity a secret from the most, but now I have no choice but to participate. You see, I am the daughter of Emi Motou, the younger sister of Yugi Motou, the reigning king of games. (Please see yugioh fanfiction Just a... for more information on the character) I didn't want to be liked because of my family, rather who I am. I know that this is also true of Chazz as his family is the Princeton family.  "Jaden shouldn't enter this tournament."

"Hence the restriction," I laughed.

"Yes," Ms Hibiki laughed back. "I know it's harsh but it's for the best." Ms Hibiki, or Chidori to me and Jaden used to babysit us as children which is how I met Jaden. It's funny, not metter who you are, you have a connection to this wonderful boy regardless. "He's like a brother to me and I need to protect him."

"Let him duel," I answered sternly. "If i have to I will use my family name to get him into the tournament. Jesse wouldn't be happy if Jaden couldn't enter. Kuriboh would feel sad as well."

"If you must play that way fine," I smirked knowing I would win. We both love Jaden with all our hearts and want him to be happy, especially after everything that happened in his childhood. "I will be watching carefully and if I feel it necceaary then i will remove him from danger."

The grip on my hand tightened, "Chidori, that is why I am doing this as well."

Once the two of us finished our talk, I made my way to the cafeteria to grab a snack. I haven't eaten properly since that day and I haven't been feeling myself. I looked up and saw Jaden sitting in the far end of the cafeteria. He was sitting with winged kuriboh looking through his deck. I smiled walking over to him and taking a seat. "Where's lover boy?" I giggled.

"He's talking to the principle about the tournament," Jaden smiled. "I already talked to him and I am allowed to enter. Here's me worrying about my grades."

"That's good," I said and patted Kuriboh on the head. "You'll look after him won't you?"

Kuriii. I took that as a yes. "Whatever is happening I'll put a stop to it!" Jaden said with determination. I sighed giving Jaden a hug from behind. "This time I'll protect you. I can't lose anyone else that I love."

"You have grown up though," I complimented. "You have opened up and handled situations very well."

"Thank you," he gave me his signature smile and hugged me tightly.

"I'm scared you'll get hurt."

"I'm scared too. So very scared which is why I will fight."

My grip got tighter as he said that. If I lost my best friend, I'm not sure what I would do.
