Second Chance (Takao Kuzunari)

You scrolled your phone again, reading the previous messages you had with Takao... your ex-boyfriend. Your eyes softened, 'Takao...' you whispered. Memories drowning you and your conscience eating you. 'Where did our forever go?' You found yourself crying over him again.

FLASHBACK (Rememering how you and Takao broke up - about 4 months ago)

You were walking down the hallway and saw Midorima walking in the opposite direction, "Shin-chan, have you seen Takao?" you asked. When Midorima heard Takao's name, an unimpressed expression was drawn to his face.

"[Last Name], you're a/an [Zodiac Sign], right?" Midorima asked,

"Oha Asa again? Yes, why?" you asked and crossed your arms,

"Watch out and prepare yourself," Midorima warned, "Oha Asa said that bad emotional luck will happen between a/an [Zodiac Sign] & Scorpios." he left.

"You're scaring me, Shin-chan." you said,

"Find it for yourself." Midorima added, glancing a little and continued walking.

You sighed. Your phone vibrated in your pocket, it was a message from Takao, "[Name]." it says. Odd. No emoticons and he didn't call you by your call sign.

"Takao?" you sent. You wondered, 'What just happen? He went home by himself, without me or Shin-chan.'

Your phone suddenly vibrated again, Takao was calling. You picked it, "Takao, where were you?" you asked, "I'm going home by myself, 'cause you left me hanging here."

"Listen, [Name]." he said, "There something I wanted to talk to you about."

"What is it?" you asked. There was a sudden silence between you and Takao. You eyes brimmed in tears and you at least tried to smile, "You need space, do you?" you asked.

"[Name]..." he muttered,

"Don't worry..." you said and sniffed, "I'll give you what you want, Takao. I'm your loving girlfriend anyway." you said,

"Are you crying?" Takao asked,

"No," you wiped your tears, "I'm okay... It's time for me to set you free, I guess. I need that thing too... this thing we call 'space'." you said,

"No... [Name]..."

You hung up.

On the other hand, Takao was slamming his head against the wall. "How could you be so stupid!" he cursed himself, "If I really love [Name] then I wouldn't give up on her." Takao said, gaining confidence.

But the next day, you completely ignored Takao. He got used to it anyway, so its time for him to move on. He can see you being happy with someone (Not really, because despite your happiness you can't move on either), so he gave you the space you needed.

It was the biggest mistake of your life and eversince that day, you regret it.

On Takao's side, he was scrolling his phone gallery once again. Looking at the happy memories you had, "I miss you, [Name]." he said with a smile, "This heart of mine can't forget you. You're like a screw; the more you spin inside my mind, the more you sink in to my heart." he said out loud, "And there is no way I can get you out of here. I don't have a screw driver to get you out... in fact, I don't want you out, I want you here... forever..." he muttered, staring to your photo which is his wallpaper.
The next day....

Takao woke up and received a text message from Midorima.

'Today, Scorpios have the best time to grab a second chance.'

"How and who?" Takao asked himself. For once, Takao became serious about this and suddenly thought about you. "Of course, no else but [Name]." he muttered as he looked at his phone wallpaper again.

Midorima also sent a text message to you,

'Today, [Zodiac Signs] will have the best day ever.'

You frowned, "Not Oha Asa again, Shin-chan..." you murmured,

'Best day ever than Cancers?' you replied to his text,

'Depends if you bring your lucky item with you, which is a picture of the person that you love.' Midorima answered,

You face palmed, "I'm getting influenced by Shin-chan's weirdness, but fine. Just once." you said, glancing at your desk. Where there is a framed photo of you and Takao. "I still love you."

You have reached Shutoku High and when you came in the classroom, there were changes in the seating plan. "[Last Name]," your teacher called, "Sit there at the very back." he pointed at two empty seats near the back corner.

You frowned a little, "Am I going to be a loner?" you asked,

"Nope. Your seatmate is..." The teacher looked around and there was no sign of Takao and Midorima yet.

"Sorry, we're late." Takao entered the classroom with Midorima.

"New seating arrangements, nanodayo." Midorima muttered,

"Takao." the teacher called,

"Yes?"

"Sit there, at the back." the teacher said, pointing at to where you are sitting, "With [Last Name]-chan."

Takao sweatdropped, you gulped and Midorima smirked, "Must be fate." Midorima cleared his throat. Your heartbeat so fast. When Takao sat next to you, you turned bright red and covered your redened face with a book.

He turned a glance at you, "[Name]-chan?" he called,

"Yeah?" you glanced back to Takao,

"Are you... alright?" he asked,

"Of course." you tried to laugh, "Erm,  the class lecture is starting, so you better pay attention."

Takao gave you a weak smile, 'She didn't change at all.' Takao thought.

For the whole day you were sitting there quiet and feeling awkward around your seatmate, Takao. It was awkward between the two of you and he finds it odd. Normally, you're the most cheerful talkative person in class.

The end of the day finally came and you think the best day ever Midorima was referring to didn't come, although you brought your 'lucky item' with you. The classroom was almost empty and you are ready to leave the room. But before you can even leave the classroom completely and Takao loses his chance, "[Name]-chan." Takao called,

"Yeah?"

"Stay." he said,

"Takao?" you blinked. Takao suddenly hugged you, so tight. "I missed you." he said,

Your gaze softened and hugged him back, "I missed you too, Takao."

"And I love you." he whispered,

Your eyes widened, "Takao...."

"I will always love you." he said and pulled away,

"What do you want to happen now then?" you asked,

"Second chance." he said,

You sighed, "Celebrate because you're really lucky I still love you." you said. Takao gained his usual smile back, "YES!!" He exclaimed,

"Oi, shush!" you said, covering his mouth and hugged him,

"Sorry." he smiled, "I love you, [Name]."

"I love too, Takao." you replied. He kissed lightly on the lips, once he pulled back, "Forever. This is so the Best. Day. Ever of my life." you said.
