We arrived and the camp ground last and when we got out of the car everyone was scrambling to try and get their tent's up.
"About time." Dad called out "You get to put up your own tent." he said smiling.
I heard the girls groan and I smiled.
"Let's do this." Jimmy said starting to get stuff out of the car.
We started putting up our tent and I thought about the drive here. I'd made it so awkward, I wished I could keep my mouth shut
Several times I looked at Ana in the rearview mirror and she had her eye's closed and her earphones in listening to music. I'd done that, made her uncomfortable.
What's wrong Matt, I asked myself, you enjoy making her uncomfortable.
Only this time I didn't like it and truth be told I had moved my rearview mirror so I could look at her.
I had to stop. I wasn't going down that path with her again.
"Yes, we're done." Jimmy said giving me a high five.
We stood back and watched the girl's struggling.
"I swear if I even sense a Bear Anastacia I will make your life miserable forever." Lilah said nervously looking around.
Ana was standing there with a pole in her hand. "Well join the club, making my life miserable is the in thing." She said.
That stung, and I felt my anger rising but I calmed myself down, I don't even think she realised what she had said.
How bad is that? To make someone think you hate them that much that they just accept it.
"Besides," Ana said pointing at the lake "the water right there is as far as I go."
"Good." Lilah laughed.
Jimmy walked over to me.
"What are you doing man, your just staring at her, it's kind of creepy."
"Was I?" I asked trying to appear that I wasn't aware that I'd been staring.
He gave me a funny look. "Come on, let's help these girl's out." And he walked over to them.
I followed.
"Let us do it." Jimmy said taking over from Lilah.
I went over to Ana and held out my hand for the pole she was holding.
"I'm fine." she said quietly.
"Just let me do it, please." I said putting my hand just above her's on the pole.
She just shrugged, let go of the pole and walked away.
I followed her path with my eye's. What was wrong with me??? I wanted to drop the pole and follow her,
Stop, I told myself, you do not want this again.
Maybe it was the fresh air making me all I don't know, nice.
"Matt" Jimmy snapped "Are you going to help or just stare at her all day?"
I swung around avoiding his eye's and started putting up their tent.
