I sat in my car trying to think of what I would say to Lilah.
We definitely needed to talk.
I missed her like crazy, and yes, I was miserable.
I guess I will just go over to her house first and take it from there.
I drove over to her house and the first thing I noticed was her car was gone.
Maybe someone borrowed it, I thought getting out.
I walked up the front steps and rang the doorbell.
Her mom opened the door.
"James." she said looking surprised.
So I guessed Lilah had told her parents.
"Uh is Lilah here?" I asked, looking past her, hoping to see Lilah.
"Oh Jimmy, why couldn't you have come earlier." she sighed.
I wasn't sure what she meant.
"Lilah left, she's gone to stay at her Grans in San Francisco."
I was shocked.
"Um really? For how long? When will she be back?" I shot a million questions at her.
"We're not sure honey, she didn't know, but her gran said she'd asked her to look at school's near her house." she said.
School's? She wasn't coming back.
"Oh, well ok thanks." I said and walked back to my car.
She couldn't stay gone, I wouldn't let her.
I picked up my phone and called her but it went straight to voicemail, she had it turned off.
Nice going Jimmy, I thought, you let her walk right out of your life.
