Two months later
"That the last box?" Josh says, as I haul a box in the room and toss it into the blue bed. "To this room, yes, overall, no. The others said they'll start unboxing some of the other rooms, while we cover this one." I say, opening the shades to the navy, master-bedroom. "Amara?" "Tyler's Mom is taking her out to buy cloths, she figured this place would be a bit overwhelming for her, as of today." I say, taking out our matching embroidered towels that Laura made for us, and walk them to the huge bathroom. "Good idea, heck, I'm twenty-nine and it's overwhelming for me already." He says, chuckling from the other room. I lay out our towels on the tempered wood, bowl sinks. I smile and walk back in the room, "Something's wrong," he says, I look up at him and tilt my head, "Huh?" "My hair doesn't match this room," I laugh and throw a tan, throw-pillow at him, "Guess you'll have to color it again," I say sitting down on the bed, he throws the pillow back at me, but unlike him, I catch it. "Aye so, what are we gonna do about Amara's first birthday next month?" I say, taking out some of the toiletries and walking them over to the bathroom. "Figure we have all the family over here and decorate the place, I'd say we give it a theme but considering the only word she's said was 'daddy', I'm not sure what she likes." I nod my head, we'll probably just hang up a ton of yellow things and uh, oh wait a minute, "Elephant themed? I mean why not, we can never get her away from her plush elephant." I yell from the bathroom, I walk back into the bedroom to see Josh considering this. "I guess, but if we theme it yellow, no yellows brighter than my hair, capeesh?" He says, dramatically pointing to his hair. "Capeesh." I say smiling. I throw him a shirt and he puts it in the drawer, we continue this cycle while I keep talking, "So this upcoming tour," I say, throwing him a red t-shirt, "Since I'm already working, I can't necessarily 'go' on tour with you guys. But I can take off a few days in spurts so I'm at least there for a little bit of it," *throws him my red shorts, "But the big question is, is Amara? Where will she go, who will she stay with?" I finish, he catches a black t that I throw him, and folds it, putting it in the drawer as he says, "Well it depends on how much you come to the tour," "Frequent," " Well in that case then, we can trade her off every visit until it's over?" I toss him blue jeans and say, "Sounds like a plan Stan," he stops and looks at me, I dramatically stare back at him, trying My best not to laugh. I spit out a chuckle and say, "I'm a loser," he laughs and 'fist bumps' me, "If you're a loser, I guess that makes me one too."
I slouch down on our new grey, couch with fuzzy, white, throw-pillows. Tyler and Jenna go to sit down on the couch across from us, as they move boxes out of a way for them to sit. All the family who's helped today is in the room, sitting somewhere, Tyler's parents, Josh's parents, My parents, and even Jenna's parents. I'd call this a full house, "Hey we're back!" Says Tyler's Mom, walking through the door, bouncing Amara. Nevermind, I guess I'd call this a 'Fuller House'... get it? I hate myself so much. I laugh to myself for making that reference... to myself. She makes her way over to the couch across Josh and I, and sits down. She sits out far enough so her legs are bent and still flat foot, she lets Amara stand between them, letting her legs be a brace for Amara to stand with. She babbles and everyone starts talking, "So where'd you guys go?" My mom says, in a sing song voice. "All over! We oh so had the greatness of all times, didn't we Amara?" She says, leaning down to Amara giving her Eskimo kisses, she laughs and it's adorable. "No trouble?" Asks Josh, "Non at all! She was an angle to be with. The stuff we bought is on the counter, if you'd like to look into it later. What'd you guys do all day?" Tyler's Mom asks. "Unpacked," I say, "Organized," Tyler says, "Installed," Josh's Dad says, "Baked," my Mom says, "All of the above." Josh says and everyone chuckles. All of the above is damn right truthful. I start to speak, "I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say that today has been a long fricken day, oh and there's leftover dinner on the table if y- OU WANT AND OH MY LORD JOSH!" I say, violently slapping Josh's arm pointing at Amara. "Awh." "Get the camera, get the camera!" "Look at you go!" "Yay!" "Holy shi- MOTHER OF GOD!" "It's about time.." "Finally!" "The exhilaration! The exhilaration!" "You go girl!" "IT WALKS!" Everyone seems to have different reactions, Josh fiddles with his phone as he opens record. "And here's Baby Amara taking her very first steps." He says, "One big step for man, one big step closer to potty training." My Dad says, deeping his voice. Everyone laughs and Josh gets the camera closer to Amara, "And what do you have to say about all this Amara?" Josh says. Unaware of why everyone is so interested in her, she babbles and squeals happily. We laugh and Josh ends the video. He picks her up and swings around, all of us laughing into a new memory.
