Hermione's P.O.V (24 hours later)
I woke with a sharp pain in my leg. My eyes quickly snapped open and landed on the bandages. I gently tried to rub my injured leg. I gasped in pain.
“Don't is a mess with it,” a voice said, making me jump.
I looked up and saw Draco standing in the bathroom, brushing his hair.
He came in and sat by me on the bed. I tensed when he took my hair in his hand. He gently ran the brush through my hair.
“Calm down, I'm only brushing your hair,” he laughed.
“I - I'm just - I - ” I stuttered.
“It's fine,” he stated.
I relaxed a bit.
“When was the last time you brushed your hair?” He asked, trying to run the brush through smoothly. “It's really matted.”
“I - I don't remember,” I replied.
He sighed.
I stayed silent as he continued to brush my hair, using a spell now and then to help the knots.
“Done, now it's smooth,” he stated.
I reached up and ran a hand through my hair. It went through without stopping. My eyes widened in amazement. I ran both of my hands through my hair, over and over. It was so smooth.
Draco chuckled a bit, making me jump, making me move my leg, making me wince.
“How's your leg?” Draco asked.
I wasn't used to this. Healing, helping, hugs, him asking if I'm alright.
“Hermione?”
“Yes?”
“I asked how your leg was,” he repeated.
“It's fine,” I said immediately.
“Liar,” He stated, making me flinch.
“N - no, I'm fine,” I replied.
Draco's P.O.V
I pulled the blanket from her legs. I looked at the bloody bandages. It was bleeding again, a lot, probably because she tried to rub it.
“I'm gonna have to wrap it again,” I stated.
“I can do it myself,” she replied.
“I'm going to do it, Hermione,” I said forcefully.
She shrank down a bit. I didn't trust her not to hurt herself. Just yesterday she was begging me to let her die. I wasnt going to let her wrap a wound that could cause her death.
I summoned bandages and the potion I used earlier. I moved so I could wrap her leg. I started to undo the bandages and easily pulled them off. Hermione got a glance at her leg before she paled and looked away.
“This might hurt,” I warned, opening the potion.
She flinched when I poured the potion on the wound. It healed a bit more than before; I couldn't see bone anymore. It was just a deep gash now.
I grabbed the bandages and begun to wrap her leg.
“Draco?”
“Yeah?” I replied, securing the bandage.
“Why are you - why are you so diffrent from other deatheaters?” She asked, not meeting my eye.
I put up another silencing charm and made sure my door was locked.
“I don't like this, Hermione. It's not right to treat anyone like this,” I replied softly. “No one should have to go through what you went through. I don't believe in this.”
She looked down.
“I - it's not that bad,” she muttered.
“Not that bad? You had a knife run through your leg yesterday and you asked, no, you begged me to let you die!” I shouted, making her flinch.
I sighed.
“Let's just… talk about something else,” I muttered.
“Did you get the books yesterday?” She asked.
I nodded and summoned the books from the shelf. I handed her The Tales of Beedle the Bard making her grin.
“I love this book!”
I smiled a bit as she flipped through the pages to “The Tale of the Three Brothers.”
“Did you know this story is true?” She asked.
“What?”
“Yeah, we learned about it on the run. Vold-”
“The dark lord,” I corrected. “Everything else it taboo.”
“Well, he has the elder wand, and Potter had the cloak and stone,” she explained.
I stayed silent after that, realizing she called Harry Potter "Potter". She stuck her nose in a book while I looked in another to find the countercurse to the curse Hermione has. I want to find out what really happened.
It was a long time, but eventually, I found one.
