Chapter Fifty

JOEYS POV

I felt bad for Ella, she was having such a hard time and no one was making it easier for her. She had been apart from us for half a year, I understand that it would be awkward to be around us all again, especially when everyone is so stressed out.
I walked over to Jaime who was standing with Lauren fixing her costume.
"Hey Richter" She said as she fixed Laurens collar. 
"Yo Joey" Lauren said.
"Hey Guys" I smiled.
"What were you at with Ella?" Jaime asked moving onto Laurens tie.
"She wanted to talk to me. We went inside the costume room and she just broke down. She started saying how left out she feels about everything and how she feels like an outcast. Then she started apologising for everything that happened"
"I actually have barely talked to her since she came" Lauren said admittedly.
Jaime stayed quiet, I knew she had been kind of mad at Ella for bringing her boyfriend here. She thought it was a mean thing to do to me, but i didn't mind anymore.
"I think we should do something with her" Lauren said. "Like a girls thing".
"That's the thing, she's already left Nate alone while she is at rehearsals, I don't think she would like to leave him for a night, he would have to come too" I said.
"Invite some of the guys then" Jaime suggested.
"Yeah bring all the boys who ever wants to go. And Bonnie, Devin, Meredith and the other girls can come and get pizza or something" Lauren said.
"Will you be coming Joey?" Jaime asked.
"Oh I don't know..." I said "would it not be weird? If Nates going to be there, I mean I am his girlfriends ex".
"I guess" Jaime sighed.
"Ask Ella anyways, have a good night" I said.
"Yeah we'll try" Lauren laughed.

ELLAS POV

I was redoing my makeup when Lauren and Jaime came up to me.
"Hey Ella! " Jaime said.
"Oh hey guys" I said.
"We were just wondering if maybe you wanted to go out tonight? For pizza and bowling maybe? You can bring Nate of course, some of the guys are going too".
I thought about it for a moment.
"Is Joey going?" I asked. Jaime looked slightly offended at this and I immediately regretted asking.
"Actually he wasn't sure if that would be okay, with Nate there and everything" Lauren said awkwardly.
"Are you serious? Tell him he can come, we're all just friends, I shouldn't see why that should make any difference" I said
"Brilliant then, see you at 7?".
"We'll be there".

I thought about Nate, he hated my friends, but I really wanted to go out with them. I just really hoped this would go well.

I got home at six that evening. Nate was sitting on my bed watching something on his laptop.
"Hey" I said as I entered the room.
"Hey Babe" he said looking up.
I let out a slight smile. "How're you?" He asked. "Yeah yeah I'm good" I said "I've been invited out for pizza and bowling, and we'll I've said we'd both go".
"With your friends?" He asked.
"Yeah basically".
"I guess then" he said dully.
"Just try to have fun" I said.

We got to the pizza place and went inside, we saw that mostly everyone was sitting at at table. Lauren was there with Joe, Meredith and Brian were there, Jim, Dylan, Nick and Matt were all sitting at the table too. The only people that were really missing was Darren, Joey and Jaime. I sat down beside Lauren.
"Hi guys" I said as I sat down.
"Hey Ella" Lauren said cheerfully "Hi Nate" She said.
"Nate I'm not sure if you got to meet everyone yesterday. This is Lauren and Joe, but you did meet them. That's Brian and Meredith, that's Nick, that's Matt and that's Dylan, Jim, Devin and Bonnie" I said pointing at everyone.
There was a series of people saying "Hi" and "Hey" to Nate.

Nate started chatting to Jim and Dylan and I was happy that they seemed to be getting along. 
"Where are the others" I asked Lauren.
"Darren, Jaime and Joey I never got any word from any of them" She replied.
"Strange" I said.
It was almost half seven when the door at the top of the restaurant opened and Darren, Jaime and Joey all came inside. They came over to the table.
"Matt? Nick? Brian? Do none of yous answer your phones?!" Darren said.

Each of them lifted out their phones,
"Woah man I have like twenty calls from you and Joey" Nick said.
"Yeah same here" said Matt.
"What the hell happened?" Brian asked.
"Well I was at the theatre with Darren when we got locked outside of it! All our things were inside, we called yous like a hundred times" Joey explained.
"Where was your set of Keys Darren?" Nick asked.
"Inside with the rest of mine and Joeys things" he sighed.
"..and then after no one bothered to answer their phones we had call Jaime because she's the only person we know that can pick a lock".
"Yous broke in to the stage!" Brian said.
"There was nothing else we could do!" Joey said.
"Why does Jaime know how to pick a lock!?" Lauren shouted.
"That's worrying" Joe said.
"I used to sneak out a lot as a kid" Jaime said dismissing the question.

Joey, Darren and Jaime all sat down at the table. When we were finished the meal we all paid for our pizzas and left the restaurant. We travelled down the street to the bowling alley.
We got three lanes. "Brian, Meredith, Jim, Devin and Bonnie. You go play at that Lane. Me, Joe, Nate, Ella and Dylan and  will play at this one. And that leaves Nick, Matt, Jaime, Joey and Darren at the last one. Is that okay with everyone?" Lauren asked.
There was replied of "Yes" and "That's good" throughout everyone.

We all sat down and began taking turns to bowl. I couldn't help but watch Joey at the other lane. He was laughing with everyone. God I missed him and I couldn't deny it.
"Are you okay?" Nate asked putting his arm around me.
"Oh I'm fine" I said with a slight smile.
"As long as you're happy" Nate said putting his hand under my chin and kissing me softly.
"Hey Joey!"Joe suddenly called "Are you and Jaime going to start doing the same!".
I pulled away shyly knowing he was talking about me. I looked at Joe he was being nudged sharply by Lauren.
Joey was looking at Jaime and laughing.
"Buzz off Walker" Jaime shouted back.

I felt really bad for the rest of the game. I could barely concentrate. Nate was annoying the hell out of me. He kept suggesting that we ditch everyone else. He just really wanted to get away from everyone.

After bowling ended we all sat in the lounge of the bowling alley.
"Who wants a soda?" Joey asked standing up.
Everyone said yeah to Joey. "Is that everyone then, Ella? Nate?" He asked.
"Oh yeah I'll take one" I said.
"Go for it" Nate said.
"That's fine" Joey said. "I'll help!" Jaime said jumping up.
All the boys said "oohh" as they walked away.

After what felt like forever Joey and Jaime returned holding loads of cans of soda.
"What took you guys so long?" Devin asked.
"I think I know" Jim laughed.
"There was a long queue" Jaime said quietly, passing sodas to everyone.
"Yeah mental" Joey added.
