The Exception

Before I could even get settled with the kids Mark was calling me to remind me that I had a plane to catch. It was a lot to ask of Nadya to take care of all of these kids but if she could pull it off then I knew that she would be a keeper. I had promised her that I would try and return home as soon as possible but knowing Mr. West that could mean a day or possibly months from now.

When I landed in Hawaii the weather was almost at a blistering level. there was no way that I would be able to get any work done if this was the weather everyday. I had taken about three of my homeboys with me and my assistant Tella was trying to rent out a house for us. Moments after we finally got some food there was a call from Nadya. I wasn't sure what to expect.

Me. "Hello"

Nadya, "Hey babe, quick question"

Me, "Okay, what's up?"

Nadya, "Well I was doing Tia hair but you have like no types of shampoo or anything. How you gon take all these kids and not have no supplies"

Me, "Well it was pretty short notice, so  I wasn't able to buy anything"

Nadya, "So um are you planning on telling me what I'm supposed to use, like I'm not working and you really didn't leave no money for groceries or anything"

Me, "So you want some money?"

Nadya, "Boy I ain't doing this for free, I am not no babysitter. I already got a child to take care off"

Me. "Listen go into the bedroom and on the second shelf you should see an envelope. Go in there and you can take what you need"

Nadya, "So how much cash you got in there?"

Me, "Listen I left some good money in there, you should have at least 500 dollars by the time that I come back. If you need any more then just call me"

Nadya, "So you wanna have a girl watchin your fam and then leave her with no money. that's not cool man"

Me, "Hey now don't even go there cause you know you not some random ass girl. I wouldn't have some random ass chick watchin my fam, them heads is like my kids, so if you need anything just call me. Plus when I get back we got a lot of time to make up"

Nadya, "I know, you owe me some major time. I'm talking like get your card ready cause momma need some new clothes and shoes. Plus you try and pass off on the date nights, we got places to go and people to meet"

Me, "Oh is that so. How come you never be buying me anything, like how does that make me feel?"

Nadya, "Listen you should be more worried about me, plus you got a lil man here that's been dying to see you. Like that extra on me, so be ready"

Me, "Listen call me tonight and we can Facetime, I wanna check on the kids, if you need some alone time then just tell Kia and I got my sister Diamond comin down this weekend. Hopefully I'll be back there soon"

Nadya, "I hope so, it feels like  I never get to see you anymore, I miss snuggling up with my big man"

Me, 'I thought I was your teddy bear?"

Nadya, "You can be whatever you wanna be, just come back home"

Me, "I'm gonna try my hardest to get back home as soon as possible but rememeber that I have something special for you and I really appreciate you coming and taking care of my family like that"

Nadya, "You know I would have done it no matter what, but come back home soon. I really miss you"

Me, "I miss you two baby"

After I got off of the phone I really had to think about working on this music that Mr.West wanted. We had been in the studio for nearly a week before I noticed that the days had passed by so fast. Homeboy had to make some moves or else I would be gone. After another whole week in the studio things were finally moving at a faster pace but I wanted to head back home and be with my family. The constant traveling was something that I would have to get used to since my own tour was coming up but it wasn't like anything super fun was happeing in Hawaii. Kanye must have sensed that I longed to be somewhere else or just knew that I was going to do my own thing because he released me and said that I was a major help. I left him with about 3 beats and hoped for the best.

When I reached back home things were crazy as usual but it felt good to be back.  Nadya looked beyond stressed and I was worried that she was going to like run away and never come back to see me. The first night that I was back she wanted me to go out to dinner with her but the flight had been long and I had been working all nights. I wasn't sure what type of conversation she would be getting out of me but I purposly tried to make a real effort on it.

Nadya, "So how was the trip? what happened?"

Me, "It was long hours of working, some fighting, a bit of sleepin and eating before more work"

Nadya, "So did you bring us back anything?"

Me, "What was I supposed to bring back? it's not like I was walking around all day with time to spare, I just said that I spent all of my time working and getting some sleep"

Nadya, "Damn J, you don't have to be so rushy rush with me. I was just asking a simple question"

Me, "I'm not doing anything. I told you that I was tired and promised to take you out tomorrow but no we had to go out tonight"

Nadya, "Sorry for trying to get out of the house for once, like that's not my fault. You act like the whole world has to revolve around you and your crazy schedule and that's not the case"

Me, "Nadya I'm not going to fight with you right now becuse I don't have the energy for this. If you have something to say then tell me straight right now"

Nadya, "Damn you give a girl nothing. like have you ever been on a date before? I'm here just trying to ask some simple questions and see how life has been treating my boyfriend and he's acting like a pussy ass bitch"

Me, "Okay Nadya whatever you say"

Nadya, "Fine you don't want to have dinner tonight then go back home. I'll be back in the morning to pack up my stuff and take Zion. I'm not going to be forcin some dude to hang with me if he's not cool with it"

Me, "Nadya did I say all of that. I just told you that I was beyond exhausted and didn't feel like going out. Like can you just give me a day to bounce back. You know that I'm always down to hang with you and do fun things but I need some rest. Please let me get some sleep"

Nadya, "Fine, whatever, it's not like we were going to do anything tonight anyways"

Me, "You see if I wasn't a good boyfriend then I would have kept on pushin you and you wouldn't have wanted that. Now let's go back home, catch some z'sss and then do this another night"

Nadya, "It's not like you give me much of a chance but I need that credit card. I got a party for work and I need to show these girls who they are messin with"

Me, "Nadya now don't go HAM just cause you got the car. That's not how this is going to work"

Nadya, "So now you can talk and be awake cause money is involved"

Me, "No, I just want to make sure that I actually have money when all this is said and done"
